Aright folks I was thinking of doing my first album review. So what better way to start then with the “surprise” release of Nachatter Gill’s Chad Ke Na Ja. The music is produced surprisingly by top class producer Sukshinder Shinda. It is a short album containing a total of 9 songs (No Intros, Outro and other bull) There is no hype on this album what so ever so let see how it did?
Track 1: starts off with a BANGER! Okay I lied.... It starts off with a sad song Chad Ke Na Jah something that Nachatter Gill is known for. I am not a fan of sad songs, but it is a really good song. Production is what it is suppose to be and Nachatter Gill does well vocal. Lyrical the song is great, great work by Vijay Dhami. Good way to start a album.
Track 2: is one hell of a great listening song. Canada has a great message and again great work by Raj Kakra, I won’t go much further that that. Production is good with Dhol and Sarangi can’t get better. The song is not suppose to make you dance, just those types of songs you take your time and listen to. It is one of the best songs of the album. Check the video at:
Track 3 : You know when I said track one was a banger and I lied. Well this time I am not! This is probably the song of the year! Dhad Sarangi will just make you feel like getting up and dance! The production is rock solid, once again like the song title the sarangi kills it! Nachatter Gill just killed it, never thought he could sing like this.
Track 4: Sahaan Vich Saah is a “classic” style sad song which it seems what Nachatter Gill is known for. Not a fan of sad songs, again. The production is simple, what you expect on a sad song. When I picked up the album this was the type songs I was expecting from start to end. Again okay track almost puts me to sleep about 6:20 long.
Track 5: Hasdi Ne Dil Mangia is pretty good track! I actually liked the track even thought the repetitive lyrics. Production is what we heard before (Amrinder Gill – Isqh) but is still good with the odd guitar here and there. Nachatter Gill once again shows his versatility with this track. None the less a solid track!
Track 6: Okay up to now i loved 4 of the 5 tracks, was not expecting this by any means. On to the track Sheesha Te Dil again is a sad song you know what I feel about those. Nachatter does well again and production is good loved the violins. Okay track...
Track 7: LOVE this track because I understand all the lyrics since i know couple of truck drivers. Driveran Da is again an amazing track, lyrically seems to be written by a truck driver. Shinda does great on the production with the tabla and harmonium. Nachatter Gill smashes it with the Chamkila lyrics! Song after song it just gets better....
Track 8: Ranjha featuring rapper Don Revo of the USA is a great track. Many hate rappers on tracks but i like Don Revo does a good job and is better than Shinda’s last choice HMC. Nachatter rips it again in the middle with a little “boly”. The production is good matches the track well especially when it gets quicker.
Track 9: the last track of the album is just like Canada but more fast pace. Piyar is written wonderful again buy the talented Vijay Dhami. Nachatter Gill does a great job damn just love his voice! Shinda know what to do on these types of tracks, solid production. Great way to end an album! One of my favourite tracks on the album.
WOW the review is done! Did it pass my expectations? Hell yeah! I was expecting sad/ slow songs throughout the album. Chad Ke Na Jah is one hell of a slow track, and Piyar, Canada, Drivran, Hasdi and even Ranja are all solid tracks! But nothing will beat Dhad Sarangi that was one hell of a track just can’t get better! Surprisingly this was a real good lyrical approach to an album and I was really surprised! Also to see Nachhatar Gill with Sukshinder Shinda’s production was a surprise.
Nachhatar Gill’s Chad Ke Na Jah get’s a well deserved 8.5/10
If you guys really liked the album (By downloading or listen) please go out and buy it! This one was well worth it!
