Just picked it up in Surrey, BC, Canada
Track 1 - Chalakiyan - 9/10 : A great song that should become a dance floor hit everywhere.
Track 2 - Hauli Nach - 9.5/10 : Remind me a lot of Ne Baliyeh. An awesome song.
Track 3 - Bishani - 10/10 : A proper bhangra tune. Could possibly dethrone hoopeh as the song that everyone dances to at bhangra competitions.
Track 4 - Manke - 9/10 : A funny break-up song. Damn, play this song and piss your girlfriend by accusing her of having "jinne gal di gani te tere manke ohney tere yaar vairney".
Track 5 - Do Kuryian - 9.5/10: An awesome song.
Track 6 - Maa - 12/10: Probably the best song on the album. Our mum and dad whom haven't gone back to india in a long time might cry.
Track 7 - Dil di hoor - 10/10: Most people wont like this song but i love it as it is a very raw, desi song. Reminds me of akharas. And finally, a girl who can pronounce punjabi properly, clearly and above all is bearable.
Track 8 - Dil Varta - 8/10: Not feeling this track at the moment but it is good. Reminds me of Hans Raj Hans classic "nachi jo sadhe naal ohnu dil vi dayan gay'.
Track 9 - Chori Chori - 7.5/10: An average sad song which is dragged out a lot. For some reason i think Lehmber could've done better.
Track 10 - Boliyan - 10/10: GREAT wedding song and a great bhangra song.
Overall: 9/10
A great album that I like a lot. If there is one album you buy this year, make it be this one as it has sad, bhangra, love, dancing songs all in one. Unlike Folk attack, this album actually has beats which are danceable and above all, unlike the previous jeeti, aman hayer albums, there are NO MC's. Not only does this get a high mark, but it lets a singer like Lehmber get more feeling throughout the song. Furthermore, it might appeal to the older audience who don't necessarily like the mcing in the songs. I hate it when in a sad song a mc pops out rhyming words like "I'm smooth like coca cola...". In my opinion, if this album is promoted well, it has the possibility of doing GREAT business in India. I would go and add it to your personal collection.
