People are to lazy to write a few words on this so i did.
All right guys back with my second review first being Nachhatar Gill’s Chad Ke Na Jah (check it here punjab2000.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=AlbumReviews&thread=12941)! Just released, Taj E’s Sik ‘n’ Twisted with a mammoth 21 tracks! Taj E is coming off his first 2 albums (Look Again and Blood and Tears) and finishing rapper Horizon’s album (Message In A Bottle) which was pretty impressive. One thing to note is that he can play his own instruments and actually is a music producer and not a normal person with a lot of money and has to go places to make a album. Enough of that on to the album review:
Track 1: Damn I didn’t see this coming SICK track..... Okay no. But Sik N Twisted intro is pretty funny like the intro to their show British Roast With Desi Toast.
Track 2: Okay this track took a lot of heat. Juggy is on the vocals which has been a while. Okay it might not be the best lyrically written track, but Vang Teri is a catchy track! Taj E does well on the music love the old school beat in the back. Lyrics to get repetitive but still a great track! Nice way to start an album.
Track 3: Next track it's Return of Jeona sung by Mukki Grewal who has a great voice! The song is pretty hard hitting! Has that “Taj E Sound”. Overall it is a great song.
Track 4: Bandook is the next track track by the late Kaka Bhaniawale who had one of those vocals that could blow you away. He will never be forgotten, the track is a different approach by Taj E on the music. Some people like this track or absolutely hate it. I like it, a decent track at the end.
Track 5: Is Nirmal Sidhu with Hik Da Jor. Does he only sing these type of songs lol? Whatever it is it suits him! Taj E does well to match Nirmal strong voice. Another great song!
Track 6: It’s Bee2 time! His 1s track on this album B.I.G is overall a good track. Once again Taj E uses a old school sample which is pretty neat! The lyrics are okay buy do get a bit to repetitive.
Track 7: The next track is Passe Hatt, i really didn’t like this track. Preet Kalyan is on the vocals, the sound is ok but a bit to repetitive, but I do like the odd sarangi here and there. Overall a below average track.
Track 8: You know when an old classic song is re sung and it sucks? Well Tord Di Daru is not the same! One of the better songs of the album! Duet song by Bee2 and Rashi Ragshri (She has such a sick voice! Kills Pooja’s voice!) The carry this song so well one of the better duets I ever heard and I hate Duets! Music by Taj E is spot on couldn’t ask for anything better.
Track 9: It’s Bee2 again with a slow song Only For You. Not a fan of sad songs but it is an okay track. Bee2 is not bad on a on a slow track especially when he slows it down towards the end really impressed! The music is what is supposed to be the sarangi in the back is really something.
Track 10: The next track is Break of Dawn by Nitasha & Kaos is hip hop flavour track don’t like her voice much. Love the music by Taj E but not fan of these type of songs. Guess you have to mix it up....
Track 11: Is called Viyay this is more like it not like the last track! Music is spot on once again with the flute, dhol and the vaaja. The song is sung by Salim how does well! Overall a great track!
Track 12: The next track is Yarr Marr by Rajia Dhillon. This was the track done by Taj E on him making a making a track (on youtube). Don’t like the singer’s voice but the music is really something love the mandolin by Taj E! Overall it is a good track.
Track 13: Is something special! Back In 1998 seems to be a track done by Taj and Bee2, which has the live at home feel! Really impressive track, these guys are for real! Take a listen to this one!
Track 14: Is a rap track by impressive rapper Horizon, Down Side Up is good track music pretty sick with a nice drop. This really shows how versatile Taj E is able to produce bhangra and rap albums.
Track 15: When I first heard this song I was like WOW! It is really fast pace! Giddha Pao hands down is the best track on the album. Sung once again Bee2, who is really impressive! The music by Taj E is absolutely brilliant love the odd algoze! Hardcore old school bolyian can’t get any better!
Track 16: This track is really something! You can call it the Vang Teri remix but the name of the track is The Bangle Remix by City Boy Bradley, Juggy D and Horizon. I really love this track, Bradley sounds fantastic! We saw the beat by Taj E on the keyboards on the 2nd video of him making a track. Very good track!
Track 17: Poison by Gopi Saroa is an hardcore sad songs which will make some people cry, seriously. The music..... What can I say? So strong and powerful, a track like this is something only Taj E can produce. I never knew Taj E could put together a song like this but if you look back to his last album Blood, Sweat and Tears and take a listen to Sajna and Jaan. The flute, table, keys go perfectly together, a fantastic song. People that say “Taj E sounds the same” check this track. Any producer can make tracks for the dancefloor but making tracks like this is a big test.
Track 18: This track can be listed as“filler” but it doesn’t mean it is bad. Dangerous is a rap track by Horizon which was featured in Horizons album. I like the track overall a good track.
Track 19: River of Pain (slow track) is by my now new favourite female vocalist Rashi Ragshri. Her voice is unbelievable, and Taj E has the right beat for the track! Love the track even if it is a slow/sad track! This album as of now has had ever thing....
Track 20: I Respect Taj E for doing a Desi remix by for Bandook. Will miss Kaka.... this guy was one of a kind, just like the other that left us Soni Pabla, Kulwinder Dhillon and Surjit Bhindrakhia. It’s a pain but have to move forward. The sarangi by taj e is really something love this version better than the original.
Track 21: Just like Taj E’s first album with the 2 Tumbi instrumentals he ends this one in class! Seasons Instrumental is just beautiful. Take a listen so calming....... A great way to end a great album.
Yes it’s finally done! 21 tracks review never thought I could to it but it was worth it. Taj E has a come along way but he has improved each and every time he has stepped up to the plate (studio). I really loved the album a lot don’t know about others but really I don’t care! Great mix of songs, deserves to work with better vocalist but Rashi Raghsri is a real find.
Taj E’s Sik ‘n’ Twisted gets a 7/10
And if you are thinking, no I didn’t get paid by The Soundpipe to write this review. ;D
Once again please leave any comments, opinions or complaints ;D
