What hip hop sample was used in the track on word is born-
"Thokha"by Laub Janjua (Track 08 on the album)
what is the sample of the strings in the background? (not the beat, but the background strings) ??

The artist is not "Laub Janjua", he is Labh Janjua.
The album was a joint project if I'm not mistaken; The Specialist and Tru-Skool so why have you titled your thread 'Truskool Sample?'
And why do you instantly think that this track has a string sample? Maybe The Specialist/Tru-Skool created that music piece themselves? If they didn't then why do you want to know so desperately for?
I await your response brother.

Instead of arguing/worrying about what 'sample' S&T used, I think you should appreciate that they have the ability and more so the creativity, to make a beat like that. Nobody else in the 'bhangra scene' is able to.

Yea i appreicialte that it is specialist + truskool, and sorry for spending the name wrong.
I am not saying they are samplers only, but produce excellent music, and wasnt dissing the for sampling, just wanted to know the sample.
Im not of arguing/worrying about what 'sample' S&T used, but am just curious.

1. calm down NothingToSay.....no big deal if he spelt it wrong.....most people come on the thread add a few quick comments and go back to our day jobs / studying......unlike your debate with my punkra a few weeks ago.....which was more like a dissertation
I am calm, I never get angry. Ever. However whats with the cheap dig about the debate and "dissertation"? This is a discussion forum, and if I wish to discuss something with someone I should be able to without being scrutinised.
2. most music fans know that it is a sample....like the rest, i cant remember where it was lifted from
The thing is, I'm a music fan and I don't know what 'sample' it was so is it definitely a sample or does it sound that good that you had to assume it was a sample?
3. i see you have gone back to rimming TS
I await your response sister
Whats with the offensive remarks? I haven't said anything untoward aimed at you or anybody else so why are you making crude remarks against me? I have given you respect and I would appreciate the same amount of respect back.
At times this forum makes me laugh, there are two extremes here. If someone dislikes an artist, their work and gives no reason or constructive criticism then it's fine by everyone. However if somebody makes valid points regarding an artist and actually puts together a stringent argument they are accused of being a 'groupie' or 'rimming' someone. How pathetic is that? Am I also rimming Dr. Zeus because I defended him in the other thread?
Grow up, please.[/color]

Im not of arguing/worrying about what 'sample' S&T used, but am just curious. I wasn't arguing with you, I've been listening to Word Is Born regularly and I have to admit Thokha sounds immense. But it's true what 'rob' said: "Instead of arguing/worrying about what 'sample' S&T used, I think you should appreciate that they have the ability and more so the creativity, to make a beat like that. maybe ask truskool - i'm sure he'll on facebook or something look forward to hearing the response! I think this is a brilliant suggestion. If Tru-Skool is on facebook then 'bhangraholics' can send him a message. Or 'indysingh' can because he is so sure that it is a sample and not an original creation. I remember a post where 'indysingh' stated that he had met Tru-Skool before, I'm sure he never forgets a face. Why don't you send him a quick message asking him where the 'sample' is from? "I await your response sister"

This S#!t it tooooooooooooooooooooooooo funny man lol lol lol lol lol - Sunny MahoyWord is born, Excellent Album. just had a question about a sample, - What hip hop sample was used in the track on word is born- "Thokha"by Laub Janjua (Track 08 on the album)... what is the sample of the strings in the background? (not the beat, but the background strings) ?? It is sampled so nicely, but just wanted to know where the original was from. Your other albums were wicked too! Tru SkoolTru Skool Sunny Mahoy: Hello, it would be good if you could leave your real name rather than creating a fake one. As far as your question goes................... Specialist CREATED that string section-it most certainly is not a sample. You can come to our studio and see for yourself if you like. But I must say that I am very insulted by the fact ... you have asumed it is a sample without even knowing that far a fact-you could have asked rather than stating that it is a sample. Specialist had put alot of time in creating that piece for the song..........so for you to STATE that it is a sample without knowing that for a fact is very hurtfull, patronising, degrading and discouraging. Please be more carefull what you say in future, there is no harm in asking a question but making false and inaccurate statements is very ignorant and arrogant. Ask next time. You can come and visit our studios for proof if you like. Sunny Mahoysorry for the assumption mate. Naa i dont need proof, it sounds proper familiar thats all lol. Sorry for stating its a sample when it aint. Either way I like all the stuff you are producing, and the old school songs on in the house. Is there a follow up album to that planned ever? (i ask as there loadza good oldies) 22 minutes ago ยท Delete SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Suuny are you ganna go visit Tru Skool in his studio? hay hay hay he he he lol
