what is YOUR personal view on homosexuality? should gay people be allowed to marry in the UK (they can here in canada)? should the sacrament of marriage be forbidden to homosexuals? would you attend a gay wedding (desi or not)?
i'm living in Toronto, supposedly one of the most diverse and tolerant metropolitan cities, with a reputation for absolute equality towards gays. i also happened to meet my first gay desi here. she is an older woman born in the UK to sikh parents. she has a daughter and is divorced. she says she held a fleeting relationship with another woman in a similar situation.
feel free to discuss any experience you've had with a gay relative/friend/parent or even yourselves.

I have been frds with gays before and sometimes I don't feel comfortable around them then, I don't really care if they are gay its there own choice and I respect that. One of my frds who is gay even tried to kiss me as a joke but he never did as I didn't like it. He was tamil. My other frd who is guy is a gora but he was a nice person to chat 2 and now I have lost contact with them both.

Homosexuality is everywhere. But who are we to say what is right and wrong?
As long as gay people aren't perverts and all into sex(straight people can be too), I have no problem with it.
It's only when you are in a circle with homosexual friends, you realise how many asian homosexuals are around you, 80% are undercover, and I mean who wouldn't be. Being Asian and homosexual is so looked down upon, BUT IT HAPPENS!
Homosexual asians are just as "normal" as straight asians.
People make such a big deal about it, but isn't life all about finding yourself?
Another thing I wanted to say was, no-one makes a big deal about a girl and guy sleeping together(even if they do, butt out), so if a guy and a guy do, it's none of your business, it's their life.
People should be more into their own lives, and if they don't like homosexual, no-one is telling you to be friends with them.
Live and Let Live........
No-one should live in fear of being dis-owned, beaten up or killed........
Some asians need to open their eyes and see the world as it is. Homosexuals are everywhere.
I know of two white guys whos wedding looked more fun than most of the straight ones I have attended.

^^ True say, if next man wants to eat meat, who are we to judge, lol.
Live and let live, thats what i say. Tho if one of my boys told me he was a bender, then id have to dis-own him, and no, i would'nt attend a gay marriage.
I think gays are allowed to have civil marriages here in the UK, if they wanna marry let them, but they should'nt be allowed to adopt.

LOL eat meat...a bender...such precise and formal terminology anyway, that's pretty unusual for you to say you'd disown your kid if he was chokin down sausage (or she smooching the bagel), but i suppose being asian n all, it's not an uncommon opinion. and i agree, gay ppl raising children is a bit too extreme for my comfort...even though the incidence of gay adoption exceeds that of gay marriage

lol@ more fun to attend to, AAG loves gay weddings That's abit mean! I don't know any gays, only one at my work and I'd go to this wedding, he seems happy enough! I know more lesbians than gay men! Used to make me sick when one of my girls would be getting with another girl, quite used to it now, seeing people happy keeps me happy! My family don't like me chilling with a lesbian though....they already think I'm one

I don;t get what "marriage" will change? Do they feel guilty about not being married in the same way straight people do?

^^Lil kids dont get to decide if they want to be adopted by a straight couple or a bunch of f*gs/dyks, where do you get your info from?
Young children should be sent to a conventional family, its not fair on young children, who already have issues, to be sent to a gay yard, who the f**k wants coksucking dads?
Older children, teens im thinking, can have a choice, but i doubt any child will want to live with 2 gay guys or 2 dirty dyks, seriously, wtf.
