I just hope you don't base your research on jattworld forums or else.
Guruji Had three wifes
1)Mata Jito Ji - guruji wed mata jito ji with traditional customs at guru ka lahore near anandpur sahib and there's a gurudwara there where every year on guruji's marriage day langar of sweets and barfis is held.Mata Jito Ji was mother of three of the sahibzadas.mata Jito Ji was the one who put patasas to make amrit sweet when guruji created khalsa in anandpur sahib. And on all days lassi is served there at any time of day.
2)Mata sundari ji - Mata Sundari Ji gave birth to eldest sahibzada.
3)mata sahib kaur ji - Guruji were passing through one village and i forgot the name of that village but there was one sikh who said his daughter will only marry guruji.....and mata ji is the spiritual mother of all khalsa after we have taken amrit from then on our pitaji is guru gobind singh ji and mata ji is mata sahib kaur ji.
Hope it clarifies situation and i won't go more into this.I am noone before my guru.
Stop googling and visit gurudwaras to know better....google brings out matter that contains various types of propoganda in these matters specifically.

u know like maharaja ranjit singh wearing his turban with all those women and harem yeh, do u reckon thats "religious"? haha. Just for your kind info maharaja ranjit singh was a very religious man.Tomorrow you guys will blame guru gobind singh ji because he also had three wifes. Maharaja ranjit singh recited without absence that day's hukamnama of golden temple.how do you think he was able to divide attakk river into two parts. It was faith dude..faith. religious, what is even the meaning of the word? I know Ranjit Singh red Japji and everything. He was also a cultural person. I don't think the conecpt of religion had been introduced to punjabi people at that time, it was introduced later by the british.

^^^ I remember reading somewhere that more than one Guru had more than one wife at the same time. Why was this? Was it a culture thing? Does it say in the GGS that Sikhs should be monogamous? well in those days punjabi peopel didn't follow victorian values, so having more than one wife was n't such a bad thing, of course then the british came and their christian ideology and victroian values. I guess the less wifes the more better for a person's spirituality? The more serious people didn't get married ata ll and weer celibate. For example, for udasis sikhs it was normal to not get married and live an ascetic life, of a wandered and preaching dharma. Of course, the true nihang singh khalsa, many of the singhs are also celibate, they are ready to serve for the fauj at anytime and marital attachements are a burden. So basically it was the oldest sons of families that were given to be the singhs of khalsa fauj.

^^I dont think that sardar boys are being rejected by Sikh women, because they wear a pagg. I didnt marry a sardar because most of the ones I know or have seen wear a pagg, but still drink alchohol, and eat meat, whereas my husband is not a sardar but does not drink alchohol nor eats meat. So, why wud I marry a sardar that eats meat n drinks, ratha than marry a non-sardar that is fully veg. and non-alchoholic? so would a chatka eating nihang singh be bad in your eyes?

^^^ I remember reading somewhere that more than one Guru had more than one wife at the same time. Why was this? Was it a culture thing? Does it say in the GGS that Sikhs should be monogamous? ^^I've actually been investigating this for you, and it appears that Guru Gobind Singh Ji did in fact only have ONE wife, although literature created the impression that He had more than one wife. I believe in the times of the Guru's, having more than one wife was a symbol of being great and superior to the common person. TO BE CONTINUED most of the people who preach that Gurus only had one wife only believe in their own version of sikhi and their own beliefs. The fact is historical literature supports Guru ji having more than one wife. Even Damdami Taksal (Mehta Chowk) supports this. Also kings used to have many wives, it was also important for them to expand their family or vansh. Also the fact that everyomne wanted to marry their daughters to the kings would have added to this lol.

^^Thanks for all ur valid points there. Im not trying 2 start an arguement about this topic. Does it really matter whether Guru Ji had one wife or three? Its never been an issue in life. Would it really make a difference to your life?
