2003 saw the release of Jassi's solo debut Reality Check and had instant success in establishing him as a competant solo vocalist and producer. Last year, he featured on the MB tsunami album, alongside heavyweights Shin/ Taz/ Sukhbir, and showed how his style has matured, along with his vocals.
After those projects Jassi was following the 'How to become a bhangra star' guidebook nicely, and nothing seemed as though it could go wrong for the young star from Brum.
Two and a half years after that debut he releases his eagerly awaited solo sequel, No Strings Attached, which has mammoth expectations.
To be honest i'm a little disappointed. We all know that the signature Jassi sound will sign every track he blesses, but i at least expected him to begin to innovate that sound. In his interviews Jassi used to humbly express that his music is just "funny sounds with dhols", and i admired his morality. However, i'm beginning to believe it.
That's not to say that No Strings Attached is a poor album. Indeed, it's a quality production and something that has become expected of Jassi. Yet, as i listen to it i'm looking for new additions to Jassi's sound, but im not hearing anything which shows that he's carried this album to the next level or little evidence that he's taken his sound forward.
After Reality Check, Jassi received stick from parts of the industry about his production abilities, especially without Bhota and Bally. But i thought he had made it: singer, producer and emerging songwriter = bhangra star in the making.
However, i'm slowly beginning to think the unthinkable. Is Jassi missing that pioneering, innovative touch that came from the other two-thirds of B21?

So guys, what is the official p2000 verdict? ? everyone has differing opinions.... I have yet to see the videos. Tony, what do you think? Ok, i enjoyed the ranjha track big time form reality chekc, i am still trying to find a track on his new album which equally matches or exceeds that, i just love the ranjha track....any idea's girl and boyz? Also, the pabhi track is different to veer ji track...it is not what i expected, may I need to listern to the album more? jassi, if you been on this baord and read the recent comment man..., let us know if we are wrong man!

I like tracks Raahe Raahe, Fohl, and Tappe, and Pabi is ok, but Fohl the best ;D Songs like Honkeh r killed cus Jassi cant say words like thodeya I think album wouldve been a lil better if there was more bass on the dhol beats, because theres not much there...

Tappe is the best song this album is great it has 4 good songs cant expect more then that from one artist, songs that suck on this album are the Rishi Rich Remix, Margay Margay, Honkey the wierd world remix and the angry remix those songs suck and pabi is ok but the rest are great!!! in all Tappe is just mind blowing track really hype so dont hate.

i finally stopped listen 2 tappe...
but i noticed on honkeh that he cant really sing slow songs, his voice sounds out of place, he not really a classical singer, which u got 2 b in order 2 b able 2 hit the rite notes... and lilsaj is rite about the word toreya, he cant say it properly... w8 til my mum or dad hear it..! he guna get ripped...
when it cums 2 the high notes and singing a bit faster he dus it well, but the slow trax just arent suited 2 his voice n style...
still giv it 7.5 tho... its jus the remixes and honkeh tht let it down 4 me...

jassi is a wicked singer...but i have to admit his best stuff was in the b21 days...
the last two albums he did were good but not his best stuff and they both sound very similar, its like the sound was just recycled and messed around with from one song to the other...
as for the remixes,i give him credit for tryin different methods and ways of havin remixes instead of ur regular "try to make it more hiphop mix". BUT the remixes arent tracks i wanna go and tell my mates about or put it on repeat becuz they are that good...they just dont cut it.
as for jassi sidhu pronouncin words...most of you sayin he cant pronounce words properly are soo right.... the guy admits and others in the industry know he cant speak punjabi properly.
here in canada we have a lot of traditional desi ppl (thanks to the huge immigration wave coming from punjab in the last 10 yrs) and trust me when the desis here listen to the tradi india bhangra such as pammi bhai, kamal heer, harbhajjan mann etc...and then they hear jassi, they have a laugh....even though they find his songs catchy and good but they laugh at the way he says certain words becuz he is way off...i personally dont notice it myself since i dont speak the mother language properly as they do...but a lot ofpeople have said that he cant sing punjabi words properly...
and u cant say hes from the uk etc so he shouldnt have to....listen to SHIN DCS or some other uk born singrs..they say the words right..
overall this album is okay, tappe & putt jatt track are stand out tracks from the album...the rest sound the same and jus repetitive from reality check, which sounded the same as old b21 tracks, and the remixes are unique but not catchy.
i thought this album would be way different from reality check since a lot of ppl did say the reality check album sounded too much like b21 tracks he did before...guess i was wrong...i think jassi needs better production, not the same oldsound.

1. Put Jatt Da is a quality track, he holds himself well enough on this and the produciton sounds pretty good. 2. Honkeh - what the f!!ck is going on here?? rerally dont like the sound of this track, and dont think he suits it. Sounds like it should be a nursery rhyme! 3. Rahe Rahe - again similar feel to track 1, but still a good catchy tune. 4. Margay Margay - ohhhhhhhhh yehhhhhhhhhhh, ahhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaa. Nah i like this track - got a nice catchy beat and bounce. 5. Rahe Rahe (rishi gooks( ) rich mix) - Not a fan of this, rishi could have produced something much better than this. it sounds too monotonous 6. pabi - this is where that india market touch really kicks in! wicked track 7. Honkeh - im still angry at how crap the last mix was...this is terrible! gotta give him respect for trying like....just sounds like an american teen rock group 8. fohl - all about the desiness! solid track. 9. Put Jatt Da - dunno which street this was done in??? sounds like s spanish one or summat! its ok, not as catchy as the original, cos the beat dont bounce as much. but its ok it its own right. 10. tappe - the big one, best track on the album!! just makes you wnna jump up and dance, burraaaggghh!! Two tracks aint up too much at all, the rish mix aint great, and the street mix is average. other than that its a pretty damn solid album. id give it a 7.5/8 out of 10. several tracks sound a bit similar but i think thats just his style, and it works!

Not to bad Tappe and Putt Jaat Da were the 2 best the rest are ok with 2 or 3 crappy tracks to. Before the album came out ppl were sayin it was gonna be crazy and i didnt get why this guy was getting all the hype. Never thought Jassi was a good singer anyways, was good in B21. Not to bad but NOWHERE close to album of the year like some ppl are saying.
