^ I feel the same it's always the case they get too mental when somebody speaks abt them and their ways with dealing with life...f**ked man...they get soo mental over it..like kids No offense meant to Sikhs, but the same can be said about speaking of '1984' It is always the evil things that certain Muslims do that is portrayed on the news, nothing good. It is because the world has equated religion with its followers. Since nothing bad is shown about Hindus, Hinduism and Hindus are one, and nobody complains. Since nothing bad (or nothing at all) is shown about Sikhs, Sikhism and Sikhs are one, and nobody complains. But since for years now, it has been a fashion trend to show a negative view of Muslims, these suicide bombers have now been equated with Islam. Of course the Muslim community will feel discriminated against. Also, consider this...how many times have you seen Desi parents (or even ourselves), once something about India or Pakistan is mentioned on regular news channels, we quickly run to the television, put the volume up, and completely focus our attention on it? It's pretty much common for any minority group of people, when something which is associated with them, or HAS BEEN associated with them by those outside of the group, to feel a change in atmosphere.

You do realize that these treaties and taxes that were put into place were done for that period of time, right? Why try to Bas!*rdize other religions? Really..

yeah but if you watched the program you would have heard what they sed this guy goes "suicide is the biggest sin in islam" then the guy goes "what bout suicide bombers" reply, "they go to paradise because they have given their life for the faith" so isnt that contradictary well they belive it is sin for a muslim to commit suicide because he is depressed, his wife ran way with the milkman e.t.c but they consider suicide bombing a self sacrifice operations i.e martyrdom, two seperate things. I remember when i was at this rally to stop the war in iraq, this muslim guy came up to me and goes "you should convert, your religions not right for you" I was like "nah im alright, I like my religion" and then I felt sick inside I'v experienced the above, so all I do is argue about mughal persecution. Muslims do this because islam is a misionary religion, they are taught to propagate their faith and covert as many people as possible. Any form of suicide is forbidden in Islam. Don't try to lead others into believing lies by claiming that suicide bombing is martyrdom. Islam is not a missionary religion, may I add. Muslims are taught to give da'wah, which means, to provide information on Islam when necessary, especially when one is spreading lies about the religion. If someone approaches you with questions about Islam, and is willing to learn, you answer in your best of ability, and if you don't know, you don't answer. Your job as a Muslim is only to be able to speak of your religion if you can. That is it. You don't have to convert anyone. When asked, you provide the information. Thus the reason why Islam stresses literacy. Also, if you actually read the Qur'an instead of spewing stupidity on forums, believing that just because it's a Punjabi music forum means that everyone on here is Sikh or Hindu, thus justifying anti-Islam rhetoric which is oh so common these days, you would find a verse in the Qur'an which states that "There is no compulsion in religion." Islam is AGAINST forcing religion on people, or pressuring people into following. Those who are pressured into following will not follow properly, because they have not made the decision on their own, they have not seen the truth themselves. Sure, one who converts could have spoken to Muslims before doing so, and after seeing the beauty in the faith, could have decided to become a Muslim, but no Muslim can force a non-Muslim, or even a FELLOW Muslim, into practicing. If they do, it is a punishable sin, and a very large flaw in their character. The Mughal empire was not an Islamic empire, might I add. Islam came to India at the time of the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. The first mosque in India was built in the 600s near what is now the state of Kerala, and the first Indian Muslims were of what are now the states of Gujarat and Kerala. That was true trading with Arabs. People saw the character of Muslims and converted. Of course, many will laugh when hearing that because they already have this image of Muslims painted in their minds as being vile creatures, but hey, I can't blame them. The Western Christians have the same view of Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Muslims, before they convert them through missionary work throughout India, so I guess it works both ways. This notion that many non-Muslims have that every Muslim which stepped foot in the subcontinent went around with swords and forced everyone to convert is a lie. There were some Mughal rulers which treated non-Muslims horribly, but they themselves weren't the most religious. There's no point in using them as examples.
