Today I got my accomodation details through the post and my expenditure even before starting university....and just on accomodation is:
Halls rent: £3,675 Damage deposit: £200 Tv Licence: around £155 Duvet covers and so on: £30ish Misc: £100
I need a job, this doesn't even include my food, transport, clothes (i have enough to last me a year), mobile phone bill, insurance, broadband, days/nights out....
Broke days here I come...
I need a car too.....God knows how I will afford it all....
I am usually good with my finances, hopefully I will be during my uni years too.
As long as I get a part time job while at university, I will be fine....

If you're going to live on campus a car wouldn't really be of any benefit. Also, if you're going to live in Uni halls won't they provide you wireless internet connection? Do you really need a TV when Channels do the whole watch tv on the internet crap... I know channel 4, BBC and Sky do it. Argos do some really cheap mini-fridges.

To get a rough idea of what it is converted into Dollars, just double it. We aren't allowed to share rooms and I personally wouldn't as I need my own space.

Gosh it's going to cost lots of money over three years.
All I can say is good luck and let the good times roll on! No need for a TV Licence, none in halls has a TV licence except the GEEKS!

Decided on not getting a car, i'll continue my driving lessons once I move back home next June.
Why would I not pay TV Licence and risk getting a large fine? Why would I want to break the law when if I pay weekly/monthly for the licence it doesn't work out as much?
I'm used to the whole TV licence thing so it wont leave me homeless lol.
Kiran those costs are for 42weeks so the academic year.

I don't drink or smoke, so I'm okay....Plus I am a tight asian who prefers to save more than I spend. I have my nani and aunts in Leicester so free food is more than a bonus. As long as I have a part time job, I should be fine.
