the only person that bigs up frictkion is HIMSELF.. his a good dj, but as a person his amateurish i aint really bothered if fricktion bigs himself up or not or whether he is amateurish, my point being is he's a good dj.

the best dj in brum ain't dj friktion...he is good at mixin etc but he na the best!!!! der is a lot of talent from brum bt de best dj's wud be either shane or que tee for bhangra id def agree with u on shane. hes been in the game for a while and i did some marketing with eastern eye newspaper and some of the people there mentioned shane as one of the best bhangra djs in brum. im surprised that he wasnt used for the bbc asian network gigs like dips bhamrah was. but dips bhamrah is now a presenter on the asian network so hes one of their main bhangra djs aswell. anyone heard of parm panesar? he does a lot of gigs at shaanti, this guy is quite good aswell. as for hip hop and rnb, personally i wudnt say que tee is the best, but shes done well to get as far as she has. there r loads of rnb djs in birmingham, like dj ams, he might not necesarrily be the best but hes been on the scene in birmingham for ages, i remember going to the early gigs that he used to do, im talkin 98 and 99. As for friction, technically he is better than a lot of other djs in birmingham and one of the best because, same as ams, hes started out about 10 years back. it all depends on how u are going to judge them, shane, ams, dipps bhamrah, que tee, friction etc. if its on skills and tune selection then shane wud be best for bhangra but rnb / hip hop then it wud have to go to friction.

^^ if que tee has 3 - 4 years club experience and fricktion has 4 - 5 years, then how do u figure that que tee still has more club experience and is a better club dj, if fricktion has still more years experience in the clubs aswell. fricktion might have been a bedroom dj for a lil while because he started at a young age, as if he would get gigs at the age of 12, 13 etc? thats not even the legal age to get into the club.
and i see u mentioned manga, is this the dude from shaanti right? if so, he isnt a proper dj so how do u suppose he is one of the best in brum? shane sounds about right for bhangra, cuz bhangra is sometimes hard to mix in and he pulls it off well. but i still wouldnt say que tee is better than fricktion either on club nor technical level.
also i wudnt say that friction plays tunes that he wants to hear himself, he explores different tracks sometimes, which is why hes a different dj instead of playin the same old stuff that every other hip hop and rnb dj is playing. like at the notts gig, he dropped salt n pepa - push it ... old skooool track. i remember cuz i was standin right next to the booth when he was doin his set and the crowd went mad.
listen to the intro of his mixtape on his website, hes sampled the crowd from that night in the intro. you'll see what im talking about.
and none of this nonsense about me being friction, cuz i could say the same about one of u guys being que tee. i got my opinions and u got urs at the end of the day.

DJ heat is a wicked dj from birmingham too, big up dj heat!

DJ heat is a wicked dj from birmingham too, big up dj heat! yea the negative comments r a bit much u gotta admit. and yes everyone has their own opinion but there is still not a lot of truth to the matter cuz personally when it goes down to experience iv seen fricktion a lot more times in the clubs than iv seen que tee. iv seen que tee's name around course but obviously fricktion's just as much and more. i dont belive that que tee has played in the clubs as much as fricktion. because when que tee was startin out, fricktion was already playin in the clubs for 3 years in london. when i was at uni i went to enuff of his gigs in central london which was in 2001, 5 years back, que tee hasnt even been djing this long. i suppose this is the point that devraj is tryna make that, fricktion has more club experience than que tee but some of u dont realise it but in all realness he does. and yea you gotta agree that fricktion doesn't get the credit that he deserves compared to que tee because she's a girl and its a male dominated game. but this doesnt mean that you devraj can start puttin down everyone else even if he thinks fricktion is the best. its the same with me, i personally think friction is one of the best hip hop/rnb djs in the game, (and yes devraj i checked the mixtape out too), but it doesnt mean im gonna start takin it out on que tee or whoever. come on lets all hold hands and unite .. be free

Personally my local bad ass DJ is Punjabi MC. But for me, when it comes to Birmingham DJ's, it has the be the following
Dipps Bhamrah DJ Friktion Manga
I rate Dipps every time iv seen or heard his sets at clubs or on the Mix since taking over from Bobby Friction. Everything from song selection, mic skillz, mixing, timing is of the highest quality. He's now experimenting allot by playing arabic and main stream tunes and mixing them in with desi beats.
Great technical DJ. Iv seen him in action and is one to watch and defiantly learn from. Not the most comfortable on the mic but his song selection, mixing and timing is tight & technically sound on vinyl and CD.
Manga, for the genre he's representing, is a great DJ. He knows his audience and plays to them and rocks every single time. He's another one who's technically tight and is a great all round talent.
Iv seen and heard the others from Birmingham and although they are good at what they do, not all of them have the 'thing' about them that makes their style rock a crowd. The above 3 iv seen and every single time they smash it!

just been reading all the messages and i have to say fricktion is being OVER RATED on the message board.. might have better skills, but thats not all you need to be a dj, miss que tee is farrrrrrrrrrr better, plays better tunes, she knows her party anthems, on the bhangra circuit and underground grime circuit and to top it all off, shes a down to earth person, dj shane is the sickest dj in birmingham, been around for years, has a good following, plays all types of music, nice guy, charges the right price, plays bhangra, mainstream and grime gigs and his on radio xl..!
Fricktions just annoying, begs promotors for gigs, charges £50, he aint no pro, jus some minor dj, i know coz my boyfriend does gigs in birmingham regular fridays! the only reason people book fricktion is because he phones the promotors him self, askes to be on the next gig and quotes £50 for the whole night! what promotor would say no to a cheap ass dj! Frikction you need to stop rating yourself as a high profiled dj becasue your not, and you bigging up yourself on notice boards just makes you look even more silly!
back to the question, my fav dj's are Heat and shane are also sick dj's, both repping wolves city!

lol here i am being accused of being friction and here is someone accused of being miss que tee. what is the world coming to?!!?
im not gonna say that i think sweetkuri is que tee cuz someone has said that im friction and im not, so iv gotta trust her judgement on this one but then again, i dont agree wiv what shes saying about friction or que tee.
shane yes, i agree, hes a good dj. but no way is friction being OVERATED on this messageboard, if anythin, people have cussed him more than rated him. its que tee who is being overated. iv not overated the guy, iv stated the facts, and i wud do the exact same for any other dj including shane. im supporting the fact that he is genuinly a really good dj and doesnt get the credability for it compared to que tee.
its a bit like a lot of songwriters in rnb, neyo wrote mario's - let me love u, but mario got all the credit whereas neyo is a lot better at songwriting and eventually neyo came out with his own thing and is much bigger than mario now. This is the point im tryin to make without anyone jumping to conclusions.
The way I see it is, only those who really know the game properly know who is more of a talent, and to see it going against that person is a joke.
And friction aint half as bad as ur going on sweetkuri, uv blown it over the top, que tee is the one who goes around actin as tho she is gods gift to djing. iv read some of her interviews on the web, and she jus chats a load of crap.
anyway sweetkuri .. iv been to chi on a friday, its not a bad night but i gotta i say i didnt come across you considering u promote the night.

If the producers got proper fresh material, the mix aint really important as long as the new tunes are banging!

WELL THE BEST DJ I THINK IN BIRMINGHAM IS STARLITE EXPRESS SOUNDS. WHAT DO YOU THINK? THEY ROCK THE SHOW FROM START TO FINISH. THERE SET UP IS VERY GOOD. THEY HAVE MANY LIGHTS AND THERE SOUND IS EXCELLENT. THEY DONT DO MIXING BUT THEY ARE REALLY GOOD WITHOUT IT. THERE DHOL PLAYER IS ALSO EXCELLENT, KEEPS GOING.
