Look what i just Found on one of my old e-mails from Kam back in the days!! ;D
Album: Timeless
Artists: Partners in Rhyme {P.I.R}
Label: OSA
Well it had to happen. All my hard work over the past four months has finally
paid of. You see, for those of you who don't know, I have been moaning at
record labels {and artists alike} to pull their finger out and give us an
album that we can all enjoy. As soon as I was losing hope I was hit with
this.
What a album! Partners in Rhyme {P.I.R} consist of two guys.Hardip and
Prem.
What a team they make.
The opener on this one is 'MITTEN DE' featuring Jasdeep Grewal. This is one
PHAT tune. As soon as I heard it I {though no fault of my own} became
'BHANGRAMAN' as I couldn't stop myself from dancing. Good lyrics, excellent
music, a wicked track.
Next up is the late great 'Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan' with 'TERE BIN NAHIN
LAGDA'.
This is a lovely song that you will want to listen to more than
once. Mixed with sheer brilliance.
'SOME DAY' is another top tune. Who said Indians can't sing in English?
Jasdeep Singh is one that completely kicks that theory into touch. The track
is a mix of English and Hindi vocals the latter provided by Shanker
Mahadevan.
'TERE TE ASHIQ' is sang by Ranjit Mani. Another well chosen track by P.I.R
and another one that puts the Keema in the Somosa so to speak. A nice beat
and well produced.
'TERE THUMKA' is performed by Sardool Sikander. This track should be heard by
the whole street not just the neighbours so turn it up and stand well back.
Making up the album is 'PYAR KEHTA HAI'{Mahalakshmi Lyer},'RABBA MEIN MEIN
KYA KAROON'{Kavita Krishnamurthy},'ANKHON SE TU DOOR'{Alka Yagnik}, a duet by
Kavita Krishnamurthy and Sardool Sikander titled 'GAL SUN' and a wicked
Garage mix of 'SOME DAY!
Partners in Rhyme have done something that no body has ever done before. As a
DJ I live by the rule that you can never please everyone, but this album has
something for everyone. A excellently produced album with great songs from
the guys who gave us 'BOR BOR', by Surjit Bindrakia, on their last album
'Distant Voices’. That album was released way back in '97.Don't make us wait
for another four years for your next album guys!
It's so good buy two copies!
Rating 5 out of 5
