A member of my family was part of the holy smoke years ago. He's got the scars to prove his worth there is no unity any more, it has all finished.

Ghosty thats your own personal opinion but certain people are in social situations wherein they can't 'survive' without a gang..
why don't you go to Vancouver and speak to some of those lads families who have been shot over drug dealing, etc?? Sometimes its just innocent bystanders who have been killed..
I'm against them little rudeboys who run around thinking their badmen lol, but certain social factors influence peoples decisions and the paths their life takes.. Back in the day there were a few gangs down leicester way (the white gang were called BabySquad) and then the Panjabi gangs included Sapna gang and The Wongs, it started off as a defence mechanism (to help each other out) kinda like Sher-e-Panjab from Birmingham but after a while it becomes something more sinister..

well basically this topic is going to be on the show Broken Silence- BRITASIA- (sky 833) im currently working with them and im trying to find people to come onto the show.
amlijattuk and funky-jalebi would you guys be interested on talking on the show?? it would interesting for you to voice your opinion and what happened to others and emphasise the dangers of gangs.. also amlijattuk- would your family member be interested..??
ghosty tenu ki patha ehmi karda rehnda.. they are social issues which have affected many. If you dont think that, then you obviously havent heard or seen anything around you.. lol even if you have, then you would know some reasons as to why people get into a gang- sometimes peer pressure or generally to make a name- big up their so called clan..
its just opinions at the end of the day- someone who has been in a gang but got out or something needs to speak up about the consequences..

"peer pressure" = easily influenced people get these problems when they are in high school or college...they should know better than to join the crowd some people have social issues... they didnt all join gangs.. ive been there why havent i joined or been in a gang???

im not saying that 'you dont know' lol its just something you seem very narrowminded about.. i dno if you are, its just coming out like that.. i know people in these gangs and the reasons why they have joined- if your a young boy aged 12 you wont know the difference between right or wrong- most kids nowadays want to do things because theyr mates are doing the same.. later they realise "oh sh*t its wrong" but their family gets affected and so do the closest people around them.
my mate had to move from america to india now in London because of gun crime. he said tome it was something ' i had to do to survive' not because he was 'easily influenced' by peer pressure.
im just saying theres more than one reason.. many are complicated but im just asking for your thoughts.
ghosty if you feel so strong that people in gangs are 'easily influenced' maybe you should come on the show?? what do u say??

okay, so that could be the case too
but i had the same issuses when i was 12-16..im not some sort of gang person.
and yeah in america and places like that its different, you get all these kaaleh doing whatever they want shooting and killing people like its happy days, dont really get that in the U.K
and no i wouldnt come on the sow, get laughed at by family and friends, lol

in the UK, mateee yes it is evident, such as, SP (Shere Punjab), Holy Smokes, Muslim Bham Panthers, Redheads, The Lynx and black gang such as The Johnson Crew and The Burger Bar Boys... theyre just SOME of the gangs around..
social issues are different to the context regarding asian gangs..
Im asking about the social issues within asian gang culture..
You wouldnt, many go onto the show and its a way to express their views and experiences..

the whole point is to arise issues so people are aware of what is happening. We might know things no one else does.. if that makes sense.
