Wedding houses are venerable to get burgled on wedding days, as they have lots of gold + expensive things in them- and this house is sometimes left unattended on the wedding day-
any ideas to make it more secure- or have somebody guard the house, or do you know of any decent security companies which provide guides- surveillance men to guard your house for the wedding day? (where you pay them for the service of course) ?
(i know about fitting a safe, fitting secure locks, a house alarm system)
but want to kow if you have had experience with security guards guarding your house on the wedding day- - share your experiences/ ideas....

I went to a wedding in Surrey (British Columbia, Canada) a couple months ago and saw that they had hired a security guard for that night. I was pretty shocked as this kind of thing is unheard of in our city.
Apparently in that area the robberies on the night of the Wedding are quite common. It's pretty clear that someone is having a wedding as decorations are setup all over the house, tents outside, lots of cars, etc. Hiring a security guard is basically the norm there.
The security guard stayed until the family arrived home from the reception at around 3am and then his shift ended. Cost to hire him for the night was $170CDN and he basically walks around the property keeping an eye out.
