Tough one to rate. I would have to go with Awaaz. There first two albums "Pyar Hogaya" and Jee Kar Da" can hang with any of the top players. I have their greatest hits album which is pretty much all of Jee Kar Da and a couple of songs from Pyar Hogaya. Every song is good. No need to skip through. Kinda disappeared. Nobody knows what happened to them.
Mela Group and 22 Karat were not bad either. Their music made you feel like you were at reception party and listening to a live band in a hall. Simple yet productive keyboard riffs. Mela Group's Aag De Bhambuke is a really good album. Very hard to find though.

yea 22 karat is a band that took me a while to get. I am so thankful I didnt give up on them. I used to think that album was a rotten apple in my collection but boy was I wrong. Especially the song 'bottley sharaab diye'. Now this was a real LIVE band. I bet they could outdo even the biggest names because of their tight and simple sound.
Mela group, they had that one song I think it went
hussan jawani da something something mutiarey
I know it was a badasss track
for the record, I voted for sangam's year 2000 album. I bought it cuz of the cover, but then was dissapointed as the music wasnt easy to get like say bhangra fever was, but later on realized that album had some crazy stuff going on in their. INcidently the vocalist Viccar dhami is the father of the lowly UK folk singer jaz dhami. What a let down, im sure the dad wacks him on the head every morning for being a chamkeela fan

I have it in mp3 format the whole album if you want it. I only have the song Gajre Wee Shankan. I got it from Itunes. But I don't have the whole album. If you can send it to me, that would be awesome. Thanks.

Kiddan Tractorbro,
I've got loads of old skool bhangra cassettes for sale with original covers and a lot are brand new.
What do you need?
