Easy peeps...
just wanted to know how many people went to the mega mela and felt cheated by the lack of live entertainment. Nearly every artist (or all of em) performed p.a.s.... where was dcs, jazzy b, malkit singh with their bands??? i think the industry is starting to go the wrong way... the real musicians and guys who actually do have some talent are what in my opinion, people want to see.... not idiots prancin' around on stage miming to trax whilst being drowned out by dhollis playing out of time. i feel the public are being cheated in a way.... its turning into a bollywood scenario where people are happy just seein the artist on stage in front of them .... they could be doinin wat ever really.. Id like to hear loads of opinions on this ...post away people. Bring back the real desi Bhangra!!!!

ye bruv im feelin wat ure sayin. da days are long gone since manak, shinda, chamkila, yamla jatt pulled out a tumbi, vaja and dholki and ripped up da mic for real. b21 really started da p.a trend which as grown heavily over da past few years. there are still a few bands playing live how it should be but it aint enuff. sad to say this, but once the existing desi artists are no longer in this world, the art of live performances in the bhangra industry will be dead. peace.

All very true.
The youth today has grown up with the some Nuts music compared to 80's. B21 are idiots for the crap trend that they started.
But the fact is that people still pay good money for this crap. i refuse to pay money for any of these S#!t events where they just get as many bullS#!t names on the flyer as possible. The truth is there is no real artist in the uk. Only original stuff is in India.
Just a quick question: HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD ANY OF THE B21 BOYS SING LIVE???

as i said in the thread of mela in gigs section, it was absolutely nuts this year. i actually paid to get in friday and it was dead, infact there seemed more people form shefiled there than bham on fiday. kam bhamra actually walked od stage because of teh sound problems. then j-skillz came on and did well dispitethe sound system people having no clue and were booked for the mela.
so to saturday i thought i mit aswell make a fake badge saying i am working there instead of paying. so i got in free after my idea, and i go thtere about 4 when rdb were on stage with th untouchables crew. again you could not hear the mic properly, due to radio xl right next door blastin there music and another dj blastin there. so i walked aroundthe stalls and there were a few good ones but alot of it was the same stores with same clothes, what is the point having 18 same stalls, not many mens stalls apart from 1 i counted. to much crap , need to cater for everybody. couple years back they had a football competion all day , no entertainment for kids, actually did a freshie organise this years mela or what?, organisers fix up bigtime. it was a good job i scammed to get in free because i would not havin paid for that and next year i will do the same. does anyone remember the mela 99 when it was catering for everybody and different then.

Zee TV let themselves down with this mela. Last years @ Wembley was good but this was a disaster on Sunday. Hrithik did a 2min stint, acts were not performin as stage was closed off from 4.30pm onwards. Above all the big acts avoided the Mela, may be they new it was going to be organised poorly, think about it, there was no PMC, DCS, Jay Sean, puria, B21, Sukshinder Shinda, Jassi Sidhu, Bally Sagoo, Jazzy B, Rishi Rich etc
