Dear Mr. Singh
Thank you for your e-mail. I have been asked to respond.
Al Muhajiroun do not have permission to hold a rally on Trafalgar Square and they have not applied for permission. A letter has been sent to the UK leader of Al Muhajiroun, Anjem Choudary, asking him to confirm that he is not intending to hold a demonstration on the square, but no response has so far been received.
Following a rally on the Square held without permission two years ago, Mr Choudary was successfully prosecuted by the Authority under the Trafalgar Square byelaws, and the mayor will take a similar approach if the byelaws are again breached.'
Thank you for taking the time to write to the Greater London Authority.
Yours sincerely
Patricia Gunter Public Liaison Officer Mayor@london.gov.uk
