Awarapan comes from the stables of ace movie mavericks, Mukesh Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt, famous for crafting Bollywood’s biggest musical hits, Zeher, Woh Lamhe and Gangster. Shot in Hong Kong and Bangkok, Awarapan is an intense and compelling drama about love, passion and betrayal. It tracks the journey of Shivam (Emraan Hashmi), a godless heartbroken boy who has never known or felt love. In order to escape the ghosts of his tragic past, Shivam dedicates himself to serve his gangster boss in Hong Kong with unflinching correctness and loyalty. His boss trusts him enough to ask him to keep an eye on his alluring girlfriend Reema (Shreya Saran) whom he has kept away from the eyes of his adversaries. Shivam’s heart melts on seeing her innocence and vulnerability. The atheist turns into a believer, as he begins smiling and responding to life. Reema gives Shivam reason to believe that she likes him. Existence begins to blush for Shivam but only till the reality dawns on him that Reema has a secret lover tucked away and was planning to elope with him. Her game was merely a smoke- screen created to gain freedom. A shattered Shivam is in a dilemma on realizing that he has been heartlessly used - does he inform his boss or does he earn his wrath by helping his unrequited love to achieve the freedom she yearns for? Cast: Emraan Hashmi, Shreya Saran Director: Mohit SuriMusic: Pritam Producers: Mukesh Bhatt & Mahesh Bhatt International Distributor: Studio 18 Releasing: June 29, 2007

Awarapan director continues the music video legacy! Even though producer Mukesh Bhatt was not gung-ho about the idea, director Mohit Suri introduced the concept of music videos to Bollywood with the chartbusting Woh Lamhein Woh Raatein remix from his film, Zeher. He continued the successful trend with the remix of Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai from Woh Lamhe. For his latest film, Awarapan, releasing worldwide on June 29, he has shot two music videos, both of which are set to take the nation by storm. The first (already on air) is DJ Suketu's remix of To Phir Aao, shot in Hong Kong, and featuring Pakistani singer Mustafa Zahid along with Emraan Hashmi. Suketu has even remixed Zahid's other rendition, Tera Mera Rishta, whose video will follow on the airwaves in the weeks to come. However, the track that is fast becoming the secret favourite of youngsters is Suzanne's foot-tapping Mahiya, originally composed by the British-Pakistani singer, Annie. In this war between the Pakistani singers, let's see whose track in Awarapan emerges victorious at the end of it all!

Emraan Hashmi goes international with AWARAPAN It is common knowledge that all the recent Mukesh Bhatt/Mahesh Bhatt releases Zeher, Woh Lamhe and Gangster have worked in India and been musical sell-outs. Unfortunately, the Asian audience overseas was deprived of watching these titles on the big screen, as their films never had a principal theatrical outing in the key markets being the UK, US & UAE. However, with Awarapan the Bhatts will witness a foray into the international market courtesy of Studio 18, which is giving the film a simultaneous day-and-date cinematic release on June 29. This will also mark the testing ground for Emraan Hashmi in the overseas market. "Awarapan is our biggest venture till date and we are extremely excited about taking the film international," stated Mukesh Bhatt. "We've shot the concluding reels in Pakistan, as the story naturally shifts there so we wanted it to be as authentic as possible." According to rumours, promotional events for the film are being planned out in the UK & UAE.

Awarapan is not Shriya's next film! The 25-year old South Indian superstar Shriya Saran is on Cloud Nine. On 29th June, she will feature opposite Emraan Hashmi in Mahesh & Mukesh Bhatt's costliest venture, Awarapan , whose music is already a rage But next week she will witness the release of the biggest South Indian film, set to take the Tamil & Srilankan audience by storm -the Rajnikanth-starrer, Shivaji, which has been sold the world over at record prices. Shriya has acquired larger-than-life proportions for being "Rajni's girl" in Shivaji. In fact, recently, when she was shooting for Awarapan in Jodhpur, she almost missed her return flight to Mumbai, because she got mobbed by Srilankan fans! Not many know that the stunning 25-year old trained Kathak dancer was actually brought up in Delhi but moved to the South after she got a big break in Telugu films. The Mohit Suri-directed Awarapan will see Shriya as a traditional Muslim girl playing Emraan's love interest.

From Atif Aslam to Mustafa Zahid! Mahesh Bhatt's obsession for melodies from Pakistan continues with Mohit Suri's forthcoming Emraan Hashmi-starrer Awarapan. Not many years back, Bhatt discovered Atif from Pakistan and used his hit tracks in Zeher and Kalyug. With Atif becoming a household name in India, it's the turn of talented twenty-something Pakistani youngster, Mustafa Zahid, to come under the illustrious Bhatt umbrella. Mustafa's To Phir Aao from Awarapan has become an overnight rage and is on its way to becoming a cult hit like the tracks on the Bhatts' erstwhile soundtracks. Not many know that vocalist Musti (as Mustafa is fondly called) formed the ROXEN band a few years back in Pakistan with Jawad Muhammad (known as Jodi) on rhythm guitars. Later on Omar Farooq joined them on bass. The name suggested by Musti's friend Kashaan has been derived from Roxen-e-Deewar, which means a light inlet in the prison. It seems Khurram from Jilawatan Productions in Pakistan was in touch with Mahesh Bhatt. The latter liked To Phir Aao and the track found its way into Awarapan. "To Phir Aao is my film's signature track," says director Mohit Suri. "It's one of the most brilliant numbers I've heard. We have it in three different versions on the soundtrack - lounge, rock and remix. It's already playing in the clubs. People are loving it," he signs off from the suite where he Awarapan is being edited for a June 29 release.

Emraan teams up with Mohit Suri for Round 3! It is common knowledge that director Mohit Suri and Emraan Hashmi go back a long way and hung out together as kids. Mohit directed Emraan in his debut directorial venture, 'Zeher', after which Emraan did a guest appearance for his friend in the Kunal Khemu-starrer 'Kalyug'. Mohit opted for Shiney Ahuja in 'Woh Lamhe' but things didn't exactly work out between the actor and director, so Mohit is back to directing his old friend in 'Awarapan', the Bhatts' costliest venture to date. "Mohit and I share a great comfort level and understand each other really well. I know what he wants out of me and he knows how to extract the best out of me. I think that chemistry between us really shows on screen," remarks Emraan. With 'Zeher' and 'Kalyug' proving to be money-spinners, Emraan and Mohit are obviously hoping for a hattrick with 'Awarapan', their third theatrical outing together. With the music fast selling out, the film is gearing up for a worldwide release on June 29.

Emraan's girl in a relationship? Mrinalini Sharma, the sultry model debuting opposite Emraan Hashmi in Mahesh Bhatt's forthcoming AWARAPAN and the one in the hit Maahiya track from the film, is reportedly an item with her forthcoming co-star. According to sources, Minty (as she is fondly called) is seeing newcomer Tushar Jalota, her co-actor in Mahesh Bhatt's next title, SHOWBIZ. The two met up on the sets of the film and hit it off instantly. Mrinalini, however, brushes aside talks about her liaison and prefers discussing AWARAPAN. "It's a stunning film! I can't wait for it to release!"

Awarapan gets it right on both levels, Awarapan is as raw as gash inflicted by a mile. The movie has style & substance both. The film packs a solid punch in the 2 hours. Emran Hashmi delivers a magnificent performance. He should be nominated for Best Actor, this sure has to be the best movie iv seen for a long time, i mean it people go and check it out.
