Synopsis,
Aditya (Shahid Kapur), a defeated industrialist, is even more broken as the girl he loves is getting married. Unable to muster up the courage to return home, he drifts out of the gathering and aimlessly boards a train, bounding away into the night.
As destiny would have it, on the train he meets Geet (Kareena Kapoor) – a beautiful but annoyingly talkative girl who is leaving Mumbai to go her hometown – Bhatinda (Punjab). Later, she has plans of eloping with her boyfriend.
Geet irritates Aditya to the point of getting him to leave the train. As she tries to get him back on the train, she ends up missing it and the two find themselves stranded on a desolate station with no luggage or money.
Begins the idyllic journey through the exuberant North Indian heartland in which this odd couple will make their way through buses and taxis and camel-carts, crossing Highways and deserts and lakes, meeting all kinds of people, to reach her house in Punjab…… On arrival, Geet's family mistakes the two for lovers. Before this misconception can be cleared, Geet escapes to her boyfriend in Manali. Aditya leaves with her, confirming the suspicion that they are lovers. In Manali, Aditya feels empowered to return to Mumbai and resurrect his ailing business.
Life takes a positive turn and Aditya begins to do well. One day Geet's family who think that she is with him confronts Aditya. He is shocked to learn that Geet has not returned home. He takes it upon himself to find her. He finally tracks her down in a Himalayan town and begins another journey to reach Bhatinda and flow into the colors and conceptions of a loud and happy North Indian family!
How their separate journeys become one, forms the destination of JAB WE MET, a beautiful and captivating saga of made-for-each-other love. Lilting, musical, amusing and packed with mischievous contrivances – this breezy fun-filled romantic comedy set in cultural North India looks like it's ready to recreate the magical era of the 90s, in the form of Aditya and Geet, being essayed by real-life lovebirds, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.

Kareena Kapoor to release "Jab We Met" music on television? As opposed to being launched at a stereotyped music release do, the music of Imtiaz Ali's eagerly awaited romantic comedy, "Jab We Met" is reportedly being released by the film's lead star Kareena Kapoor on television. Industry insiders inform that Kareena is all set to shoot for Zee TV's immensely popular programme, "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" for a dedicated 30-minute "Jab We Met" episode, which will unveil the film's soundtrack, composed by Pritam. Along with the contestants and the show's anchor Aditya Narayan, Kareena will launch the audio, which officially hits the market later this week and is being tipped to be a charbuster. The contestants will sing Mika Singh's hit "Mauja Mauja" track from "Jab We Met", Kareena will talk about the film and a brand new promo of the film will be showcased. This special episode is likely to be aired this weekend. Her co-star Shahid Kapoor, who is currently shooting in Canada, was unable to join her for the shoot. "Jab We Met" is being released internationally by Studio 18 on October 26.

Sandesh Shandilya's guest track for "Jab We Met" While Pritam has composed the soundtrack of the eagerly awaited Shahid Kapur - Kareena Kapoor title, "Jab We Met", director Imtiaz Ali has roped in his old friend, Sandesh Shandilya to compose a guest track, "Aaoge Jab Tum Saamne", a beautiful mellow number, known to be Shandilya's trademark. Shandilya's erstwhile composition, "Suraj Hua Maddham" in Karan Johar's "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" was a smash hit . It may be recalled that Imtiaz and Sandesh go back a long way.....the latter had composed the much appreciated soundtrack of Imtiaz's debut directorial venture, "Socha Na Tha", which starred Abhay Deol and Ayesha Takia. The friendship has come a long way ever since, and if a sneak peek of "Aaoge Jab Tum Saamne" is anything to go by, Shandilya has certainly given it his best shot yet again! "Jab We Met" releases worldwide on October 26.

Kareena - Shahid's Ishq Via Bhatinda on Punjab Mail The forthcoming Shahid-Kareena starrer "Jab We Met", could have been titled "Ishq Via Bhatinda" or "Punjab Mail" as per an audience poll conducted in India. The audience voted for the title "Jab We Met", one of the three options, because of its informal, young and romantic sound. Not many know the rationale behind the two Punjab-centric titles that got eliminated in the voting process. The logic behind "Ishq Via Bhatinda" comes from the fact that the character (Geet) played by Kareena Kapoor is one of a Sikhni from Bhatinda (a town in Punjab), which is where she takes Aditya (Shahid Kapur), her fellow passenger. Incidentally, the name of the train (in the film) headed to Bhatinda is "Punjab Mail", which forms the basis of the second title. Their first ever meeting on a train kicks off a romantic journey with unexpected twists and turns, which explains the title, "Jab We Met". According to sources, this title was also Shahid's numero uno choice from the list of titles. "Jab We Met" releases on October 26.

Pritam composed JAB WE MET while marrying! Now that the soundtrack of the Shahid Kapur - Kareena Kapoor starrer, "JAB WE MET" is out, we have the reason for the glowing reviews that it's been receiving. Our sources tell us that music director Pritam was busy composing the soundtrack of the film even on the day of his wedding! Laughs director Imtiaz Ali, "Pritam had quite an eventful marriage! This dulha, between his wedding rites, was busy composing for us. We thought he'd be unable to give us the tunes because of his wedding, but to the contrary! There was a time when his friends were helping him wear his wedding dhoti, while he was on the phone asking us how a particular tune sounded." We wonder how Pritam's wife reacts to the "JAB WE MET" soundtrack! The film releases worldwide on October 26.
