Album: America’s Most Wanted 3
Artist: Dj Sanj
Label: Envy
Say what you want about DJ Sanj but nobody can deny what the man has achieved. The man has been a key figure in the success story down at envy, the label which has produced artists such as Dr Zeus. Let‘s face it, ‘Das Ja’ was always going to be hard to follow. But with this album Sanj has shown his versatility as a producer; as an artist.
‘Balle Balle’ opens the album. Yes, it might have a similar formula to the massive ‘Das Ja’ but rest assured this track stands alone. Karan MC is used for this one. The beat is simple but effective, just like ‘Das Ja.’ You better get used to hearing this because it will around for a while. ‘Pyar’ is a slow-paced, romantic one with a slight R.N.B flavour. Nice melody, I love the way it breaks up and starts again. Lovely…..
And so we come to the trump card, the secret weapon, the dark horse track……..’Block Party’. Once you hear this, you’ll want to hear it again and again. For me, the best track on the album. Taz is featured on this one, coming in here and there and totally bringing the track to life. The ‘Mehbooba’ sample from the ‘Sholay’ track is so addictive. A great all round piece. Fantastic! The Perfect ‘Summer Joint’! My Advice? Crank it up in your car and just drive! Karan MC is back with ‘Apna Punjab’. If I was a betting man I would say this could out do ‘Balle Balle’ as the most played track at Parties. But I think this may take a little longer to catch on. It’s a great track though and the two tracks can do no harm to Karan MC’s reputation. That’s for sure.
‘Kamrey Mein Aaja’ grows on you after awhile. The more you listen to it, the more it appeals, it could be Taz that brightens the track up. A re-worked version of ‘I Can Feel It’ by Sabrina is also on offer. What we have here is another solid release from Dj Sanj. It’s not a ‘Desi’ album, but features two of ‘Desi-est’ tracks your likely to hear this summer. It should appease people across the board; in theory anyway. The Skits on the album are also worth mentioning!
DJ Sanj has his fans. Listen to this album and you might see why.
