PIRATE FROM PAKISTAN's BIGGEST COMPANY(SADAF) NABBED WITH 'RANG DE BASANTI' PRINT Producers UTV Motion Pictures have initiated stringent anti-piracy measures to safeguard their much-hyped Aamir Khan hit "Rang De Basanti", which released worldwide last week. The Mumbai police and Fairdeal Investigations (an anti-piracy cell appointed by UTV) nabbed a piracy contract holder at Mumbai's domestic airport on Sunday who had arrived from Delhi with the pirated VCD master of "Rang De Basanti". He was going to deliver the VCD master to a woman in Mumbai's Bhendi Bazaar area who was going to take it with her to Pakistan for Riyaaz Khan, kingpin of piracy mafia. Riyaaz is associated with Sadaf Video, the biggest piracy company in Pakistan with alleged underworld connections. He would have made various copies of the VCD master in no time and shipped copies to around the world. The miscreant's arrest will disclose major links of the piracy mafia. Producer & Distributor UTV is also going to track the VCD master to the Delhi theatre which may have been allegedly bribed to leak the print. The way this usually works is that theatre staff are bribed by the culpritsto get into the theatre and video record the film, which is then transferred to a computer and VCD master prints created. The hit "Rang De Basanti" is out on general release and playing in cinemas worldwide to a huge response.
