A mother was facing jail or a £4,000 fine last night because her daughter downloaded music from the INTERNET. Sylvia Price 53 was stunned to find a summons on her doorstep from London solicitors Wiggins, the firm which prosecutes INTERNET pirates on behalf of record companies, says 14 year old Emily has been breaking the law for 2 years by using a file sharing pro gramme.
The teenager had downloaded 1,400 songs inc alums by her favorite bands Oasis, and Coldplay. Mrs Price from Springbank, Cheltenham has been told she has until July 1 to pay up. She said "I'll have to go to prison because I haven't got that kind money". "I don't even know how to use a computer". Emily has it in her bedroom to help with schoolwork I just pay the bills. Emily insisted she did not know file sharing was wrong. "Everyone at school does it" She said.
