BBC Asian Network’s London Mayoral Candidates debate with Nihal
Thursday 17 April from 9am Asian Network phone in host Nihal chaired a radio debate with candidates from the main political parties contesting the job of London Mayor next week. Ken Livingstone, Boris Johnson and Brian Paddi*k were all on hand, however Ken turned up 30 minutes late. Here’s a quote from that moment: Ken: ‘I’m very sorry, but my kids haven’t seen me any evening this week, and they didn’t see me at the weekend, and they just wanted a little bit of time this morning. Sorry about that’. Nihal: ‘So you actually left the house late?’ Ken: ‘I left the house late – the kids don’t understand why daddy spends more time with Boris than with them… Nihal: ‘or the Asian Network’. You can listen to the debate via digital DAB radio, via SKY tv on channel 0119, on Freeview at channel 709, or Virgin channel 912 . You can also view the action via the webcam at the Asian Network website www.bbc.co.uk/asiannetwork A full list of candidates contesting the London Mayoral election on May 1st is found at bbc.co.uk/london/features/london_elections_2008
