In my openion, pagg or long hair is not important, important is the Sikhhi..one should follow the true path of the Sikhhi. Now a days members of all community are giving importanace to outer part of his/her dharma and they forgot the main message of his/her dharma, ex. Jain dharma followers became Nude but they are not know or understand nudeness of Mahaveer, Hindus using Tilak, Kalawa, Upwaas or other karmakanda but the forgot the main message for Hindu Dharma, Buddha dharm's followers cut their hair fully but they are not understand hair cut of Gautam Buddha. So Pagg or long hair is not much important...

So Pagg or long hair is not much important... of course its important....its in keeping with the fundamental tseeq philosophy of staying in touch with nature and how god intended us to be.....BY NOT CUTTING OFF LIVING PARTS OF YOUSEFF..... look at your picture saagi..you are mutilated....why do you hate yourself so much to cut your body parts off......the only thing thats stopping you from cutting your arms n legs off is the presence of neurons in those parts....so by cutting off your hair...you are claiming that only those parts that have sensory neurons are living while the others are not.... YOU ARE DEAD WRONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG long kesh are not analogous to symbols found in religious practices your analogy is erroneous long kesh is not the equivalent of Tilak, Kalawa, Upwaas or other karmakanda its not just a symbol...but a living part of your body..whose evolutionary function we may not fully understand...but name one other animal that has long hair the way humans do... so of course evolution doesnt grow stuff just cuz it feels like it...theirs a reason behind it...our closest relatives (the sidhus?)...no the....monkeys dont have long hair...care to explain why......nigg..metrosechsual prophet from chandigarh

There a lot of people who look Sikh with their turban and beard but unfortunately bad people. So if you look at the overall picture you are supposed to be a good person looks don't really matter. If you are gonna wear a turban make sure you don't do stupid things and make the whole community look bad. If you do do stupid things and wear a turban and have a beard get rid of it.

I want to say one more thing, when pagg is made necessary for sikhs, than circumstances is different, that time sikhs are soldiers, they had no time for hair combing, cut or shaving, If we see all 5 'K' are made for that circumstances, karpan for kill enemies, kada for self defense and remembrance for sikhi, kesh for no time for hair dressing/shaving, kachha for ready every time for war means no time for wear any pajama or dhoti and kangi for when you have time, comb your hair. If we want to wear pagg only for symbol of Sikhism, then it is okay.

Unfortunately them being dharmic will not help them in getting a seat in their local corrupt gurdwara commitee, so these religious people just prefer to practise adharm.

The fact is I have seen so many corrupt Amrtidharis that I feel character is a greater judgement than kesh. I like the fact that the bhag is a symbol so I would encourage monay to wear one, i do not feel this is wrong

It shouldn't be about the hair. IMO it should be about how well you follow the teachings of Guru Nanak (universal truth, brotherhood, equality etc.) to make this world a better place. Keeping your hair is a part of sikhism which the 10 guru put in place but will it really make you a better person?

just because you wear a pagh..it doesnt automatically make you religious..but that is what people think....pisses me off! What I find is that the sikhs who cut their hair are gernally not as liberal as the sikhs who keep their hair and wear a pagh! Like sikh parents who cut their hair..have kids they cut their..but they are more sticter in terms of culture like dont let their kids go out..treat their daughters like crap.........prefer a son over a daughter......strict like that. ....culture and religion are 2 diff things

yeh I agree. cos I got pugh and darhi, I get mixed up with those fanitics and klhalistanis and jatha waley and singh sabhias and all those other crews. Whn end of the day all I am is a traditional annakhi jatt who just wants to presevr the punjabi culture and follow sikhi with a sound mind and respect for the other humans and fellow hindus and etc etc etc.

Its funny how people always mix up culture, principals and teachings just to justify their MONA saroop. It doesnt really help. Its cool with me u know, but dunt try to defend your side by saying Oh we follow what humanity says.
you should ask urslf eh. All religions teach wat SIkhism does. They all preach the message of peace, equality and so on so on. So y become a sikh?
You complaint abt Pug waleh being dirty and all.. Butt firstt atleast have the passion and love for 10th guru's panth and Become one of them. Wear a Pug, Grow kesh.. Thats the first part. Rest depend upon your personality that how you wanna carry forward and perform those teachings.
Dunt just act bias all the time and start complaining abt Dirty Pug walehh...
Just admit you dunt have the passion and guts to be in a sikh saroop. I DUNT! i have a cultural ID (punjabi) but i dunt have any religious ID. i look exactly like the way any hindu or Muslim does.
If you are that of a good human in your life, i Bet after being in saroop, you wont turn into evil.
