Full Badhmashi was a heavy album but I gotta give it to Pump Up The Bhangra. All of their albums were brilliant before the singers split.

Their albums have always been good. I also want them to reform as a band though coz they were a good live act together!

best bhangra group, i think shake yer pants was their best album tho. silinder pardesi ruined his career by teaming up with rishi rich

sometimes I think their was so much brilliant punkra generated in that decade that it could last us another 10-15 years or so
yea...right now......im bumping shake yer pants as well, in addition to the permanent fixture that is the sahotas "aaja" cd in my car (gidha pao stays safely in a secure climate controlled glass case at home)
Ustad frantic's traditional punjabi guitarwork is epic....

i still like the original balbeero better...seems by 98...the sound became watered down
in the 98 version..you can tell that they turned the guitars n zildjian dhols (drums) down on the mix..and you can hear the annoying tumbi clicking away like a high pitched metronome without any variation
still not bad for an album released 4 years into the folk hop era

nigg
everyone had a different sound in that era...people wanted to see how you were different, not how well you could sound like someone else...
that was the point to the era
to take punjabi music places it had never gone....it wasnt as conservative as today with everyone trying to be "desi"
