The matchups can favor both teams...
If lakers decide to start lamar odom that would put pau gasol at center and andrew bynum on bench. Howard can have his way with gasol in the paint all day, on the other hand gasol has some pretty good post moves as well. Howard though has the advantage because of size and strength
Lamar odom would be matched up with rashard lewis, this matchup favors odom tremendously. Outside of the 3 point shot, lewis really has no offensive weapon. Lamar on the other hand can shoot the ball and is also effective at taking it inside. Lewis is going to have his hands full here
lakers trevor ariza and orlando's hedo turkoglu are a key matchup. both hedo and ariza can shoot the 3 ball well, but turkoglu is an all star and is a smarter player. Advantage goes to turkoglu by a little bit.
then we have kobe bryant against mikeal pietrus. This is a no brainer, kobe will abuse pietrus and should really take advantage og him. Pietrus also can shoot the ball well, that means kobe has to step up his defense this time.
Both magic PG and lakers PG are pretty evenly matched, but orlandos rafer alston has a slight edge. Lakers derek fisher has been struggling from the field as of late and is going to have to guard rafer a little tighter. Fisher has to bring his A game on this matchup
However, the lakers have the better bench. This is a HUGE advantage for the lakers. Lakers shannon brown and jordan farmar can fill in for derek fisher perfectly.

i knw dis iz gona go against mah previous post but...
lakerz in 4 or 6 @ most...dey can shut rashard n hedo dwn EASILY...IF and ONLY IF dey dun act all arrogant n shyt n be consistant thru out da series..dwight aint gona win gamez 4 u..he can put wat most 40 pointz a game..but datz in once in a blue moon..
...4 orlando 2 win..itz gona have 2 be a TEAM effort day in and day out...dey gona need @ least 18/19 pointz frm hedo, rashard, n rafer...EACH...and dere gona lack dat..
whoeva has da lead afta first 3 gamez..won dis series..

I wanted to see Cavs against the Lakers but Lebron's team couldn't help him beat the Magic and the finals Lakers will definitely beat the Magic. Dwight Howard is a little cry baby, after every little hit he starts to whine.
LETS GO LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you are correct, gasol and odom can shut down hedo and rashard.I mean if you really look at it critically, gasol and odom are just the better duo hands down. Rashard is basically useless if his 3 point shot is not going down. Hedo can be a threat inside but hedo's ball handling is terrible if you ask me, and that makes it that much easier for the LA bigs to block him or strip the ball away from him.
for orlando to have a serious chance in this series, they have to play well as a team (as u said) AND they also have to make their 3 point shots. orlando magic have countless shooters but theire only effective if their converting on their shots.
Ain't I
umm dwight howard a crybaby? where the hell did you get that from? if your talking about whining after fouls, then my friend almost EVERY nba player whine after a call doesnt go their way. Its mostly to keep the team spirit up and to try get the attention of the refs.

Oh S#!t! There is a sports section! Damn I am a huge Wizards fan all about Agent Zero baby!
As for the series this is going to be a big one! The question is going to be if there is any one to stop Howard inside? But I love the Lakers chances Kobe and even D Fish have been here before...
Can't wait for the game!

Damn it was like 24-22 for the Magic and then the Lakers never looked back. Kobe is unstoppable yeah he takes a lot of shots but f**k 40 p, 8 reb, 8 ast, 2 blk. If the magic keep playing like this it is going to be a quick series.

ignore his comment..he dun knw wat hez talkin bout..sme kid who sed dwade wuz all ova lebron..i still laugh bout dat till 2day nothing to laugh at except maybe your poor grammar... and for your kind information i never stated that Dwade was "all ova" Lebron You could choose between Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, and Lebron James and make a case for each one that hes the best player.. People need to stop underrating dwyane wade, hes a unique player.. dwade's stats for 2008-2009 30.2 points per game 7.5 assists per game 5 rebounds per game 49% field goal shooting 2.2 steals per game 1.3 blocks per game dwyane wade in 2009 became the ONLY player in NBA history under 6"4 to record 100 blocks and 100 steals in the same season. Now that is saying something my friend. People like you are quick to put lebron in front of him immediately, i laugh at them.. To me both are superb players and their is hardly a difference between them. Except that dwyane does have a championship ring.

Lakers defeated the Magic in a blowout fashion 100-75
Personally I myself didnt believe the margin would be this big. The game was pretty much over in the 3rd quarte when Kobe Bryant was on a tear. The man scored 16 in the 3rd quarter including a spectacular and one bank shot over Pietrus.
Kobe went on to score 40 points on 16-34 fg shooting including 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Quite possibly making this his best finals performance ever since the shaq/kobe era.

Both Lebron and Wade are great players... but guys was the 2003 draft loaded or what lol?? The Pistons had a chance to draft Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade! But no they draft Darko Miličić. This draft was sick but nothing would ever beat the 1996 and 1984 draft for sure...

He has players around him that cant even knock down a wide open shot. by the end of the season he was pretty much toren apart. But he still had a few good games during the hawks series. the hawks were the better team and one man can only do so much. Take a look at lebron, he had sexy stats during the magic series, i believe 40 ppg 8 rpg and 8 apg, and what happened?.. magic won because they were the better team. once again one man cannot go far without his team supporting him.
