Hi Mercedes11
Firstly respect for showing interest in old skool bhangra music and keeping it alive and also Good Luck with the conversion process caus I've been doing the same with my vinyls and its a pain, lol.
To answer your questions:
1) The ones you have listed as Ag Laundi Jandi and Hor Na Kehna are from the album Lets See You Dance (Nach Ke Vikha) by Nishana Group. The songs are actually called Kurri Alhar Kuari and Mehfil Laggi Ae
2) The song you have listed as Aye Wangan To Churan sounds familiar and i think I have it somewhere but will have to find it so can't help with that one at the moment
3) The sample that you have from the megamix is actually from the Super Duper Bhangra Mix from the album Music Blasters. Its actually a non-stop boliyan that goes on for about 20mins and the sample you have is from the first boli which is sung by Roop Samrai and Dippa Satrang. Its an absolute awesome track if you can get hold of it (PM me, I might be able to help). Apart from that I'm not sure if that boli was ever released as a complete song.

The Super Duper Bhangra Mix was awesome. I rem that. Great post.
Mercedes11: If you don't mind me asking, what program do you use to convert your cassettes? I have a lot of old rare albums that are impossible to find, and I wanted to convert them as well, before I end up losing them all.

Kutha17,
A typical cassette adapter with a short cable and a 3.5 mm phone jack, a copy of audicity, and to clean the recording i use goldwave. I think this is the easiest and quickest way to do so.

You sure know your stuff! Its not really hard converting them but it sure its time consuming its a shame these are not released again in mp3 format on itunes or something. These songs are quite rare. If you have the boli of Dippa PM me it , if its a complete song. There are a few more songs i converted which i have no info as there is no cover of the cassette, so again I would be grateful if you could have a listen and tell me the info. Last but not least, yes! its all about the old skool! Lol. www.sendspace.com/filegroup/MC8TD7nvhJJGBVte0yy%2Btj%2Bah%2F1wRWmyPS. The track 'Dance Music' , there was a song with the exact/similar music , do you know what it is ?

Hi Merecedes11
I've listened to the songs you uploaded but to be honest i'm not quite sure who they are by and what album they are from. The vocals sound like its two singers singing and one of them sounds like Meshi Eshara. I know its not from any of the Eshara band albums but it might be from when he was in Roshni Group with another singer called Bugga. There are only 2 Roshni albums I know of, First Light and Maar Sutiya. I have First Light but havent heard it in some time but I dont think its from that album but it could be from Maar Sutiya. Having said that I could be totally wrong.
The Dance Music song I'm not sure of at all. I can't even think of a song that has the same tune. It has a "Band Baja" type theme to it so I thought it might be from one of those dhol instrumental type albums. Other then the tune sounding like Nain Preeto or Jind Mahi, I can't help any further with this one at the moment :-(
I have Music Blasters on cassette so will PM you the Super Duper Bhangra mix when I get a chance. DISCLAIMER: I don't condone piracy but I can't find this song on Nachural Records MP3 downloads (which is surprising because they have the rest of the album and it was distributed by them) and I know Music World bought the rights to the album but they have now gone out of business so I guess its ok for me to give you this song ;D
kutha17 I convert my vinyls using an ION USB turntable. I started using a Sony turntable but the stylus started to get worn out and it was going to cost me nearly £50 just for a replacement. The ION turntable only cost me £20 and its really good quality and not as sensitive to crackles in the records. For cassettes I've been using a Plusdeck2 which is a cassette player for the PC which automatically cuts the tracks based on the gaps between the songs. Like Mercedes11 I also use Audacity to clean the audio, awesome software with great tools and FREE. You could just use a 3.5mm jack plug like Mercedes is doing but you need to make sure that the volume of the cassette player is at what they call Line-Level to get th audio balance correct. This is more difficult with vinyl if you don't have a pre-amp. Let me know if you need any help.
I have one request which I have asked many times before. Does anyone have Azaad Joban and Nachdi Jawani which they are willing to sell or at least give me an MP3.

Hi Mercedes11 Check your messages I think the song you are reffering to is Shonkan Bhangra Dee from the album of the same name.

I've prob got 95% of all cassettes released in the 80's regardless of band or artiste, that's where all my pocket money used to go ! Tapes were only £2/£2.50 back in the day

Mercedes11, I thought the song might not be the one you were looking after I sent it to you caus I read your lyrics wrong. You say the music sounds reggae like but does it sound like it may have been produced in India or does it sound UK produced? Reason I ask is if it sounds UK produced then I doubt it's from Schoole Nahi Jana, Nacho Mere Naal and A'ho caus I'm almost certain they were produced in India. Shonkan Bhangra Dee was produced in the UK and the rest of albums came in the 90's. Multitone did release this Amarjit Sidhu live album which was when he toured Europe I think and its got songs like "Kali Teri Gut" and they did a video to it also which had G Mall on the Dhol. The only other thing I can think of is that maybe its from Mitra Pa Bhangra which is a Chirag Pehchan album when Amarjit Sidhu was one of the vocalists. Are you sure its Amarjit Sidhu because there is a Soho Road song on Gidha Pao by the Sahotas and lyrics seem similar to what you wrote. Surjit's voice at that time was quite high pitch so perhaps "Amarjit" like.
You asked for Shaal Mar Key by Shaan but the only Shaal Mar Key I've heard of is by Dilruba and I've got that one.
Rock N Rolla thats exactly what me and bro used to do. It was difficult getting Bhangra tapes where we were so we would just wait till a wedding out of town or if we ever went to Southall and just bought all the tapes we could irrespective of artist. Those were that days when cassettes were only £2.50 and you could haggle the price down if you bought more, lol.

Are you after just the song Shal Mar Key or do you want the full album? I have the full album but may take me some time to convert it to mp3, depends when I get back from work.
Do you have a sample of this Amarjit Sidhu track? If you can get me a sample I will be to let you know for sure which album its from.
