One thing that has always puzzled me is when people go on or whinge about the format dj's use to mix. For example, You have the traditional Vinylists believing that the format is sacred lol and cd's and mp3 should be banned. Then you have the CD and MP3 dj's who think Vinyl is too expensive or too heavy to crate around to gigs
Why do people believe 1 format is superior or makes u more of a dj? its rubbish. Dj'ing is about Musical knowledge, reacting to a crowd, being a great showman and having a collection of banging tunes. Dj'ing isn't about how you mix or what you use, but your TUNES and the order they are in
Personally i dj uisng the Traktor software because the there are no limitations to what u can add to the mix. Looping, extending, you have the advantage of having your whole collection at hand.
i think people who see the only way of truely dj'ing are with vinyl need to step into the future lol. Im against things that make dj'ing totally talentless, but whichever format you use it requires talent and a hell of alot of practice.
at the end of the day dj'ing is playing records to suite an event/ club night/ house party whatever it is. Who cares what you use to do this as long as you have the place jumping and going wild?
;D

exactly its not what you use its HOW you do it also i always think dj's who just play song after song are letting themselves down especially at alot of bhangra gigs. at least attempt the continuos blend init it may not be as easy to do with music like dance/ drum and bass etc but if you can pull it off it sounds incredible blending bhangra tracks together

is there any good bhangra dj's out there that dont actually mix or blend tunes? can just playing track after track work or is it just a farce? what about the issue of dj's using playing pre-mixed cd's?

is there any good bhangra dj's out there that dont actually mix or blend tunes? can just playing track after track work or is it just a farce? what about the issue of dj's using playing pre-mixed cd's? im not sure but theres no doubt that even if u dont mix or blend u can still be a great dj dj'ing is about playing the right records for the right time, setting a soundtrack to the evening. Thats why track selection is a million more times important than how you mix. Id rather listen to a dj who has wicked selection of tunes but dont mix than somebody who mixes n plays same old same old mind u im sum1 who enjoys the kick u get out of hearing 2 songs u know mixed 2getha its awesome no better feeling when everythings going along great pre mixed cd thing iv heard of and its a joke because how can u play the right song at the right time if its all pre mixed :s its stupid and lazy anyway im a rip the cd to mp3's dj lol all the way so many more possibilities than with vinyls and u can carry ur whole collection its the future all we have 2 do now is get rid of the ppl who still illegally download and have mp3's they have no rights to own
