what is it with u kids these days? God...im sounding old lol.
trust me, there is no place like home. what will u achieve when u live away? u can drink as much as u like? u can go clubbin? have fun?
there is more to life than that. everything comes at an expence, u dont realise living at home saves u money n time. but most importantly gives u love! something u cant got from anywhere else.
let me give u some advice; manage how u r if ur parents dont agree in u stayin in halls for the first yr. then take a gap yr between ur 2nd n 3rd, so that way ull experience both sides of the coin.
dont worry about the uce thing, thats where u r, now b proud of it n move on. yes some ppl may look down on it, i know some of my mates at my uni (edgbaston) do, but f** what they think n just move on. make the most of what u have n stop being so silly!

thanks hamilton munda.
couldnt put it any better myself. guess jus got a bit "grr" to read what some ppl write these days.
i tried it myself, i took a yr out worked in london for a year. it was good stuff, i enjoyed it i must say. but then come about the 8th month, u start thinkin, what am i doin here if my family isnt here. in london i could have all my friends around me n there would b times where id get lonely, at home in bham; even if i was alone in my house i never felt loney, cuz its ur house!!!
when asian parents says "what we're doin is all for u" they mean it! reject it if u want to, but if u dont have a big ego infront of ur parents, then u will come back to them...
take care all,

Living out can be good and bad. Bad if ur a dosser. good because it is the first step towards independence. Also sometimes staying at home can be as much of a discration as living out.

well said miss desi!!
i think to some degree its something one must do, probably cuz im a firm believer of "every1 learns off their mistakes", so for those of u who really want to do it but ur parents dont let u, think of a good idea, do it for a year n make ur decision accordingly then.
however, bad side of that is that if u can get easily disstracted; u will get on the wrong track in life n it could b very hard to get back on the right one, partly cuz some will think u r on the right one, n when u realise ur not, then its too late.....

i belive u can be independent living at home too. you dnt have to move out 4 uni to gain independence gain the trust of ur parents and ur alrite. enjoy life to the max but within boundaries so that u dnt put shame to urself and ur parents. yeh sum ppl say oh if u live at home ur mum will cook 4 u etc but wen u get married ur sass aint gna cook 4 u u gotaa learn to do things urself otherwise life hunny is gna be tough.
