this myt be abit late but.... Out of all the student accommodation available for DMU students, Filbert Village the best one in my opinion. its got a good sized common room with one big tv screen- they put in the latest playstation games in there. theres also a smaller tv which shows all the freeview channels that u get in ur i am so stupid that i keep posting this. theres a pool table, table tennis, and an air hockey table. theres also a mini gym.- a v mini gym- only got 2 gym equiptments in there lol. the security is quite good. the room sizes are quite big- the single and double rooms vary. so its best to check out a couple of flats. the biggest rooms are in E block i think. its not that far from uni as ppl might think- its less than a ten min walk. I like the fact that its not nxt to uni- like out the way- but not too far away. I hated grosvenor house, my mates lived at newarke point- and its not all that there- and the rent is ridiculous! Victoria halls are nice but a bit pricey. Leslie and oxford court are very cheap but no en-suite- have cleaners everyweek and free broadband The only thing about Filbert you might find its got abit of a rep- i dont get what the big deal is, dont understand why the bad boi wannabes park their cars outside all the time!

Erm theres about three corner shops near it....
if u go on the roundabout- the one with the road (upperton road) that leads to narbourough road- take the exit with the building with the big windows- thats another hall of residence- liberty park. and the canal thing will be on ur right. then take the first left- at spar. Filbert is on the right- u cant miss it- unless ur blind!

Newarke point for me, it's got good parking, close to everything, and big rooms.
