Im not Pakistani, but I figure those who get offended might see it just like how a black person would get offended by someone (who is not black) saying n*gga. Though the n-word has a much more negative history to it, there are words used to insult relatively all brown people, so some might be offended by that usage.
Some others probably don't use the word Paki because it's like saying Hydro, Guju, Mallu, etc. Slang becomes more prominent, and half the people (more or less those not of the ethnicity/nationality and non-Desis) don't bother learning the proper words, and can't even spell them.
Just a guess though...there's probably other reasons

what are u then if ur not pakistani a website centered around certain types of indo-pak music, with the majority of users being indian...if a specific user is not pakistani, your best bet is indian, though nationality is of no importance here INDIANS ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hopefuly that should kill off all convo and essays from that freak with the dumb av a little insecure are we? not fond of people disagreeing with you, or any of your views being challenged? or perhaps just afraid of what is not familiar, thus wanting others to cease speaking? why would 'indians are the best' kill off a convo? are you expecting someone to say 'f you' because of minuscule statements like that? this isn't myspace. it's kind of hard to offend someone like that when the person is of the same nationality as you. then again, what makes (insert any random nationality here) the best...i'll never know. as for the avatars...hmm...a pink cartoon heart which looks more like a buttocks than anything, or a religious phrase invoking the compassion and mercy of god considering that there are people here who have the khalsa symbol as their avatar, i don't see why that would make this dumb. you believe in one god. so do i. even talking about avatars is kind of pointless, but hey, if it makes you happy then all is well.

ok shalin u sounded like stewey from family guy then lol LOL family guy sucks, but stewie is a hilarious character. he's pretty much the only one who makes sense on the show. what south park did in season 10 when they cracked on family guy was awesome. if you haven't seen that (or if you don't watch sp), it's a two-part episode called 'cartoon wars'. cartman tries to get the show pulled off the air lol.

I'm not Pakistani lol. Muslim is not synonymous with Pakistani. I don't care about Pakistan, don't support the nation or the idea of it, nor do I support the vast majority of the BS that India does. If you had any knowledge of demographics, you would know that 50% of Pakistan is Punjabi. Isn't that what you are? This is a website primarily for Punjabi music. I am not the only non-Sikh or non-Punjabi on this site, nor does it say anywhere that only Punjabi Sikhs who agree with you are allowed to be members/allowed to speak. Nice way of saying "you people" by the way...really makes you look mature. You're arguing like a little child whose red crayon broke. No one is "better" than anyone. If you don't like what I have to say, and consider it all crap, fine. That's your call. I'm not here to preach...I'm doing exactly what everyone else here is doing, and that is trying to state an opinion. That is the point of a forum. You discuss whatever is relevant to the topic at hand, in a fashion that is understandable and proper. I'm not sitting here attacking Sikhs (why do I need to?) or Indians (hint hint: I am Indian), so I don't understand why you have to resort to dumb comments. Really...do you act like this off the Internet? Or are you just creating a whole new persona because you're hiding behind a monitor? If you (and others) are full of hatred of people who aren't Indian Punjabi Sikhs, again...that's your call. You would be at the same level of those who hate Sikhs. It's the same crap then. What do you gain? Why feed into it? There have always been rifts between religious and ethnic groups from the subcontinent...Indo-Pak, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, and southern Afghanistan. Look at the 'groups' that form in schools and even neighborhoods, where South Asians choose to live around 'their own kind'. Group X thinks they're better than Group Y, Group Z thinks they're better than Group X and so on. Why be narrow-minded and follow that trend just because of a highly persuasive and manipulative viewpoint of being 'wary' of Muslims and resorting to animosity or even hostility? It is obvious you dismiss anything that doesn't fit your liking. Well, guess what...not everything you hear in life will please you so don't be so ignorant. Not everyone you come across will agree with you, whether it be in person or in the virtual world. That's just how it works. People have different views. If you don't like it, well...to be quite frank, you're hopeless. It is probable that you will not consider anything, but if it's not offending you, your faith, your ethnic background, your nationality (which I share...), or anything about you...I see no harm in saying what I said. And nobody was "hating on" your avatar. You made a negative reference to mine, and I gave you an explanation of what it meant. I won't be surprised if I get attacked, or get smited again and have my karma decreased lol. It wouldn't even be an attack...it's more like an 8-year-old screaming "YOU SMELL" or something of that sort. Khalas...no point in petty arguments anymore, so let's just toss this aside, yeah? People do a lot of bad things. I don't condone it, nor do most people with common sense. Just don't let misguided ones skew your ability to see good in others, regardless of background. Rabb Rakha.

In the Holy Quran, God speaks about the stages of man's embryonic development, 1,400 years before modern day scientists 'discovered' important information on creation of man and his development: We created man from an extract of clay. Then We made him as a drop in a place of settlement, firmly fixed. Then We made the drop into an alaqah (leech, suspended thing, and blood clot), then We made the alaqah into a mudghah (chewed-like substance)...[Holy Quran 23:12-14] Literally the Arabic word alaqah has 3 meanings: leech suspended thing blood clot 1. "In comparing a leech to the embryo at the alaqah stage, we find similarity between the two." [The Developing Human p.8]. "Also, the embryo as this stage obtains nourishment from the blood of the mother, similar to the leech which feeds on the blood of others." [Human Development as Described in Quran and Sunnah p.36]. 2. The second meaning of the word alaqah is 'suspended thing'. The suspension of the embryo, during the alaqah stage, in the womb of the mother very appropriately fits this description. 3. The third meaning of the word alaqah is 'blood clot'. We find that the external appearance of the embryo and its sacs during the alaqah stage is similar to that of a blood clot. This is due to the presence of relatively large amounts of blood present in the embryo during this stage. Also during this stage the blood in the embryo does not circulate until the end of the third week. So the embryo at this stage is like a clot of blood. By examining a diagram of the primitive cardiovascular system in an embryo during the alaqah stage we would notice the external appearance of the embryo and its sacs is similar to that of a blood clot due to the presence of relatively large amounts of blood present in the embryo [The Developing Human, p. 65] So the three meanings of the word alaqah correspond accurately to the descriptions of the embryo at the alaqah stage. The next stage mentioned in the verse is the mudghah stage. The Arabic word mudghah means "chewed-like substance." If one were to take a piece of gum and chew it in his mouth, and then compare it with the embryo at the mudghah stage, we would conclude that they would be almost identical because of the somites at the back of the embryo that 'somewhat resemble teeth marks in a chewed substance.' How could Muhammad, peace be upon him, have possibly known all this 1,400 years ago when scientists have only recently discovered this using advanced equipment and powerful microscopes which did not exist at that time? Hamm and Leeuwenhoek were the first scientists to observe human sperm cells using an improved microscope in 1677 A.D. (more than 1,000 years after Muhammad, peace be upon him]. They mistakenly thought that the sperm cell contained a miniature preformed human being that grew when it was deposited in the female genital tract [The Developing Human, p.9] Professor Keith Moore is one of the world's prominent scientists in the fields of anatomy and embryology and is the author of the book entitled the "Developing Human", which has been translated into eight languages. This book is considered a scientific reference work and was chosen by a special committee in the United States as the best book authored by on person. Dr. Keith Moore is a Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada. In 1984, he received the most distinguished award presented in the field of anatomy in Canada, the J.C.B. Grant Award from the Canadian Association of Anatomists. He has directed many international associations, such as the Canadian and American Association of Anatomists and the Council of the Union of Biological Sciences. In 1981, during the Seventh Medical Conference in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Professor Moore said; "It has been a great pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Quran about human development. It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad from God, or Allah, because almost all of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later. This proves to me that Muhammad must have been the messenger of God, or Allah [The reference for this statement is on 'This is the Truth' (video tape). For a copy of this video tape please contact us]. Consequently, Professor Moore was asked the following question, "Does this mean that you believe that the Quran is the Word of God?" He replied; "I find no difficulty in accepting this." During one conference, Professor Moore stated, "... because the stagein of human embryos is complex, owing to the continuous process of change during development, it is proposed that a new system of classification could be developed using the terms mentioned in the Quran and the Sunnah (sayings of Muhammad, peace be upon him). The proposed system is simple, comprehensive, and conforms with present embryological knowledge. The intensive studies of the Quran and Hadeeth (reliably transmitted sayings and reports of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) in the last four years have revealed a system of classifying human embryos that is amazing since it was recorded in the 7th century A.D. Although Eric Statle, the founder of the science of embryology, realized that chick embryos developed in stages from his studies of hen's eggs in the fourth century B.C., he did not give any details about these stages. As far as it is known from the history of embryology, little was known about the stagein and classification of human embryos until the twentieth century. For this reason, the descriptions of the human embryo in the Quran cannot be based on scientific knowledge in the 7th century A.D. The only reasonable conclusion is that these descriptions were revealed to Muhammad from God. He could not have known such details because he was an illiterate man with absolutely no scientific training." [This is the Truth -video tape] i invite all to learn about islam for yourself and don't hate! learn for your own knowledge and judge for yourself! this is a website u will find truly fascinating! please read for yourself: scienceislam.com/quran_miracles.php
