This is ridiculous. Why do people assume that girls and boys in india right now are all innocent little angels who have more manners and self respect than those people in this country?
From my experience of being in India and staying with family etc, SOME girls are just as bad as SOME of the girls in this country and SOME of the guys are just as randy as SOME of the guys in this country.
TO BE HONEST, it's in their culture to hide S#!t, be sly and fake. In my pindh theres plenty of guys and girls that go out and do all the stuff people here do - but they just keep it undercover.
I hate the stupid generalisations. Like, 'oh, im going to marry a nice little virgin kuri from india who is all naive and washes the dishes and doesn't answer back!'.. bullS#!t!
IT TAKES TWO. Depends on what type of person one is, not where they are from.

But the thing is Ive grown up in a Punjabi culture, beleiving in honour etc. And more importantly Ive been brought up with Sikh values. I know people ova there can be messed up but theres a large population that arent messed up. The difference is that here people are forgetting their culture and acting all westernised while there at least a large majority are still folling the Punjabi way. Its westernisation Ive got beef with.....

Ah, I’m not concerned with the Punjabi culture but I do take an interest in sikhi, and Sikh values.
‘90% of the people calling themselves Sikhs in the UK and western world clearly aint and id rather be closer to where real Sikhs are....’
It’s not easy being a Sikh. I’ve met loads of people who call themselves a Sikh but know nothing about the religion or don’t follow it properly. Here and back home.
I don’t think the Punjabi culture fits in with sikhi 100%. But with all cultures I'm sure there are positive and negative aspects. I’m all for the respect and honour thing, but in Punjab, pindh life, it’s mostly all about gossip and taking a high interest in other peoples business etc, being religious is a necessity and a front, and most people couldn’t care less. Ever tried debating about the existence of god with someone from Punjab? Tough work, lol.
Can you give me some examples of people acting westernised?
About the marriage point, no matter how you ask people can lie. People can lie about anything. In my view being in a relationship is not bad, its human nature. But, you need limits. Don’t go pimping or sleeping around etc, yeah?
I don’t think people need to categorise their beliefs to a certain culture/tradition. We can mix our beliefs to suit our needs. Each to their own I guess.

yes but over in uk everyone knows when a person been with so and so, so its not cool. At least you think that person is decent from there, and they know how to behave decently. here , peopel aren't sly cos they think its ok to behave in that way.

Please watch the following video
It sums up why im so ticked off. Im ticked off that people can forget so much about their history and who they really are.
So go on....go out wiv Pakiz....go sleep around and shizzle having no honour....go pouring alcohol down your throats.....but remember one thing....that people died to make sure you are alive and able to be true Sikhs.......great men and women gave their lives.....and with each passing day that you go drinking, sleeping around and stuff....with each action youre spitting in their memories.
End of rant.

hmmm thats not really my kinda music, i perfer mpore cultural stuff..
i am sure our ancestors even before following the Gurus would NEVER have done this dating-shating stuff. I am sure they didn't have this kinda behaviour in mind when they started following the sikh panrht, they'd be rolling in their graves or something....
