seriously just ask the kuri straight, are you sikh or not? are you proud or not? why r u discriminatin against my turban...blah blah, i dunno make something patriotic up. Also continue with some history , "but what about all the turbanned heroes who gave up thier lives just so we could live in peace, I am just tryna emulate my heroes, respect their sacrfice like a true sikh does , stop being such a selfish , spoilt brat .. etc" and everyone remember to read their sikh history ;D

Because the majority are uneducated airheads who dont have a clue what Sikhi is about and have their heads up Bollywood punks like Sharokh Khans ass.
Keep your hair and be proud, missing out on tramps like that is no loss.

Punjabi girls aren't really sikh girls anymore, they are materialistic and so much into fashion that humility is no longer part of the vocab. I remeber going to gurdawarra once and actually particiating in kirtan etc and this other girl that was there with me, i asked her stuff about god and she had no idea!!! she was at the gurdawarra for a social reason rather than the spirtual reason! guys are alot more sikhs even if they drink and eat meat than our girls, because the only role models we have are aishwarya rai etc, there are no punjabi sikh mentors out there...so I feel sorry for you blokes, but then you guys need to go for girls who are a bit more humble like Jess out of bend it like beckham and not bloody pinki..

which one was jess and which one pinki?
I woudln;t go for parminder nagra, she has behaved very liberally in real life and she isn;t very attractive either, but looks aren;t everything, decency is impriutrant on the other hand.

i don't know what parminder nagra is like in real life, me not from the uk, i stumbled onto this site when i was google.com ing, jess is the soccer player, just thought her character the way it was portrayed in the movie was what was lacking in most of our girls these days. you can be beautiful and confident woman without the 1 kg of foundation and mascara. The fact that you gotta wear so much make up in the first place is a sure sign of low self esstem. Not confident to be seen raw and naked if you know what i mean..i'm gettin gofdf track now...but there is a point to all this...if we want to look like models I guess we want men that look like models too, so mr turban guy sort of goes out the picture again..

This thread reminds me of a song which Immortal Technique did, its about Latin women changing they way the look to fit into American society and what society says what a woman should look like, song was about Latin women dying their hair blond, slimming down etc, basically trying to look like white women, Technique in his song basically saying keep it real, similar issues in this topic.
My point being, this world is full of very decent people, girls who aren't going to treat you differently because you wear a turban, that sort of girl is not worth it anyway, especially if she is Sikh and does that, just keep it real is what I'm saying.

n about the topic....iono
bt the fact that girls going to da gurdwara and not praying....is true...even the old ladys....they just go sit in da back wit der kids[as an excuse] and gossip bout people who be walkin in....and/or catchin up wit da other aunties.....AND DATS WHERE THE PROBLEM STARTS I THINK
girls learn from der mothers....so if they see der mom just sittin and talkin to da other auntie....den wat do u expect u noe....n da fashion thing.....ITS WORSE IN INDIA I HEARD....GIRLS DER ARE MUCH WORSE THAN GIRLS FRM HERE.....
N HAS PPL BEEN NOTICING HOW THE BOLLYWOOD MOVIES ARE LIKE NOW HAVEING GIRLS BE ALL BUTT NAKED...N DER KISSING...N EVEN HAVING SEX...?!?!?1 WASSUP WIT DAT
I CANT EVEN WATCH A INDIAN MOVIE WIT DA FAMILY W/O WORRYING THAT THE ACTORS MIGHT start STRIPPING OR SOMETHING???

^^^Just tell will you reject a turbanned sikh or not??
We know gurudwaras now-a-days aren't anything close to what they used to be.....it's all about money now-a-days......but rather that is not the point of thread. We don't have a gurudwara herein nearby but i go to JHU frequently to meet my cousins and pray at baltimore gurudwara and rather i have done akhand paths myself no gyaaniji's involved......it's all about knowing your history and being proud of it and following it.
I would rather like to hear your views ON the issue.
